Delayed flowering

Delayed flowering in cannabis can result from environmental stress, inconsistent light cycles, nutrient imbalances, or genetic predispositions.

For photoperiod plants, improper light schedules—such as light leaks during the dark cycle—are a common cause.

For autoflowers, genetic disposition is often the cause, but sometimes autoflowering does not occur despite being an autoflower seed, so it must be treated like a photoperiod with regards to flowering.

Delays can extend growth timelines, reduce yield predictability, and sometimes trigger hermaphroditism. Stable lighting, healthy nutrition, and stress reduction are key to avoiding this issue.
