Dormancy

In cannabis, dormancy most often applies to seeds, which can remain viable for years under proper storage but require favorable conditions (moisture, temperature, oxygen) to germinate. Dormancy acts as a survival mechanism, allowing seeds to withstand environmental extremes. While cannabis plants themselves do not undergo deep dormancy like perennials, they may slow growth during stress or adverse conditions.
