Entomopathogenic fungi

Entomopathogenic fungi are microorganisms that act as natural insect pathogens, commonly used in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Species like Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae infect pests such as aphids, thrips, and whiteflies by penetrating their exoskeletons. Once established, the fungi consume the insect from within. For cannabis cultivation, they provide an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical pesticides.
