Photoperiod

Photoperiod refers to the length of light and dark hours plants receive in a 24-hour cycle. Cannabis uses this signal to switch growth stages: long days (18+ hours light) promote vegetative growth, while shorter days (12 hours light, 12 dark) trigger flowering. Photoperiod manipulation is central to indoor cultivation, while outdoor plants rely on seasonal daylight changes.
