Distinguishing between potassium deficiency and toxicity

I searched a lot on the Internet and I'm still not sure what are the detectable differences between the two. They look the same to me.

Very informative threads but I couldn't still distinguish between them. My guess is that potassium toxicity starts from and top and the deficiency starts from the bottom. Is it correct?
