I have the fan running all of the time to maintain negative pressure in the tent so the charcoal filter keeps the smell under control. I use a speed controller to help control temps.

I don't use a filter as were I live there is only people about for the summer and my exspleld air goes out a vent in the roof, I'm also on top of a hill by the sea, so nobody gona smell nothing
