Fungus Gnat Larvae

Found a dreaded fungus gnat larvae in my soil. I did 1/2 a gallon of water with 1tbs and 2 tsp of Doctor Zyme. Then foliar fed it into the soil. I’ve had some predator mites in the soil and was wondering why I had them along with spring tails. Is there anything else I should do about them. Do they live in the top soil like 2-3 inch or are they deep in the pot. Should I let the pots dry out a lot? Any help would be appreciated.

I use mosquito dunks. Just get a mosquito dunk and crumble it up then put it in water and water your soil. No more fungus gnats

It’s all I’ve ever used. Heck now I just crush em up and add em in with my soil. Haven’t seen one in a few grows

Gotta love it. Dunks may mean that this winter I try the soil I am building outside this summer. Importing the evil gnats is not an attractive option.

Gotta love it. Dunks may mean that this winter I try the soil I am building outside this summer. Importing the evil gnats is not an attractive option.

From what I can tell mosquito dunks basically dissolve the little bastards. And they are all organic and natural

This is what I would refer to as the go to ultimate tactical warfare loadout for combating the dreaded fungas gnats.

mesquito dunks to kill larvae, yellow stickies to slow the adult population
a big bag of floor dry aka diaomataceous earth to cover the surface of your soil..you'll have to re-apply D.E after watering...you can also look for a pest strip, same shit flea collars were made of, can't remember the name...kinda contentious amongst organic growing crowds but they help take care of the little bastards too at the air level.

You can also use another biological warefare like Stratiolaelaps scimitus..but if used, refrain from applying D.E.

I swear Fungas gnats were put on earth for one reason.....to be my life long enemy..
I hate them damn gnats..
But they are a common pest in organic gardens.

I talk nice to my plants...while at the sametime I talkshit and give death threats to fungas gnats...lol

I have diatomaceous earth, have the yellow sticky traps, and I use doctor zymes drench to in my last water for larvae. I’m going to buy that mosquito dunks today and add it in anyways. My plants are definitely feeling better since then!
