Hello everyone welcome to my first ever grow diary :smoking: I have only ever grown one plant before and she yielded me 64 grams of goodness! I'm back with a spring in my step and a plan to go "organic" and grow in soil this time round.
Last year I bought a load of seeds, at least 30 from different vendors when I was a little smokey so now I have to try my best to grow these beans out and reward myself with some quality smoke!

Seeds - I managed to get my hands on some Deez Nugs along with some other goodies. I hear this one is a real knockout smoke. The freebies I decided to grow are Forbidden Cookie x Forum, maybe they mean Forums cut of GSC, I'm not sure, we shall see. Heard nothing but good things about these guys so thought id give them a try first of all.

24 Hours light - Now cut down to 20/4
Distance - 29 Inches
Temps - I have an Inkbird controller set at 25c connected to 2 tube heaters. Only one is on when it needs to be the other is used for a heat mat until they are potted up. It does a great job
Fun Fact - I sleep right beside my tent, the hum of my RVK fan nurtures me to sleep on a night :smoking:

My plan is to pot them up into 6.5 litre pots and see how they fair in my DR60. They all germinated fine under a heat mat, all out with the shells on. I was going to wait until they root out the little pots but think I'm going to pot them up in a day or two regardless just to be sure, don't want to stunt them but at the same time don't want to push them to early and stress them out. Would love to hear some other peoples opinions on this, I believe you should start autos in small pots unless you have a few under your belt to avoid the mistake of over watering..( which I probably will do.. and have done)

Yesterday I prepared my soil in a big plastic container and pre wetted it for the future use. I got 25 litres of Bat mix special and some glove and went crazy removing little lumps and twigs. Its worth mentioning the Bat mix special has HALF of the crap the Light mix has in it. I have heard good things about light mix but think I got unlucky. I added some Eco thrive charge at quarter the dose and a tiny amount of PM granuals.
Any tips welcome, I'm as blue as they come, any tips which will make my life easy please comment away

Hi mate , i found your thread Nice I see you start your seedlings off in square pots, that might help the roots balling. I tried similar this time with forestry tubes - the autoflowers didnt really like the transplant but they are good now. Letting your soil cycle a bit , that sounds what ive read is good. I dont have those nice soils on offer in Australia what soil places make up organic soils its pretty pricey. I bought organic soil from a commerical hardware and it didnt seem hot with the young ones. Royal Queen seeds have nice writeups on soils etc and other plant issues. So far your girls look very healthy and good for 6-8 days old. I also note Royal Queen seeds say no ferts for the first 2 weeks of life, but that may be old news mate, so a more informed member may help there. Transplant - gentle some tonic like seasol ( not a fert but fish/seaweed - help roots and stress)

Thanks for the nice comments Smokey! I'm trying to follow a wet/dry cycle as best as I can, only watering when the soil starts to shrivel from the sides of the pot. It shall be interesting when they move to bigger ones I'll be taking the advice 'less is more' and going from there . From what I have read the soil is good stuff and you wont need further amendments until late in flower, I take that with a pinch of salt though. Anything else I would need do you think? I see you mentioned Seaweed. Money is short since I lost my job because of this virus If it is essential though I'll try my best to source it.

When I planted the Deez Nugs beans I added a little of this bat special to the light mix thinking it would help, the results on my end are clear that they do so much better without it, don't be like me.

I must say this was my first auto transplant, first they sulked a bit, but seem to be fine. I read that at Royal Queen Seeds, a wet dry cycle. If water logged they dont like it , if too dry the same. Great soil it sounds, so it has all the N the girls need, i think most soils would be on the light side. A friend who helped me, TheGreenBandit, told me to start light with nutes, when I did my first grow like start with a 1/4 and work up from there. So Deez Nugs had too much nutes with you added the bat sepcial to it?

The Virus thing is horrible for the economy, so only the essentials. Its shocking mate, hope things pick up soon. I hope more informed members drop by to help more.

Hey thanks for your response Smokey I transplanted mine into their final pots today. A little earlier than planned but hopefully shouldn't stunt them too much/at all. I warmed the soil, pre wetted days before, room temp feed and shit loads of granuals. I just hope they respond to it as well as I hope, I have a friend who has an auto in flower who is having issues with light height and security. With me just getting a new tent I thought why not help him out. When that arrives I'm going to do 3 plants and keep a refugee for my buddy

I'm hoping my soil isn't too hot for my girls at the moment, I mixed in some handfuls of light mix and coco, not too much to stir the pot so to speak though, only time will tell. Both Deez Nugs are doing fine one had a slow start but recovering nicely and the other had slight burns on the leaves but no loss of colour which makes me think its strong but not that strong for young plants(I have read others starting seedlings in watered down bat mix special with other soils so this is why I initially tried it) I'd say the mix was around 50/50. It's a shame that 1 has to be condemned to the window side! Or maybe outdoors if I find a location as the weather is picking up in the UK, keeping my eye out:smoking:

A few burnt leaves one Deez, that could be ferts or soil The transplant the shock may only last 24hours, mine were fine in a day or 2, one is stunted but could be another matter. Nice if you can get one out for a bit of sun, if she can only get sun at the window side. Hide her behind something or find a secure spot from prying eyes. I hope the UK weather is good for summer and not to cloudy.

Hello again smokey:smoking: hope you are well. a little update I planned to take one of my friends girls due to a security issue but I was too late unfortunately. So the original plan is going ahead, 4 autos. They were all potted up today into their 6.5 litre pots (I think ) Deez Nugs now at day 9 and the Forum at day 11. I purchased 2 tube heaters thinking they would be okay for heating this area, but it seems they can only just get the the temps around plant level to about 22/23. I changed my light cycle to 20/4 the other day and have just recently switched back to 24 hours on. I want to go down to 18/6 or 20/4 but I may just keep it 24 hours as the environment is easier to control, as to which is more expensive, i'm not too sure.

after transplant I gave them a good watering around the rootball and left the soil around it but that dried out surprisingly quick so I just watered the surrounding with a homemade rose spout and this is what I'm continuing to do. I cant do a wet/dry cycle till run off from the get go of a transplant in soil right? Surely they starve for oxygen?

I grew my first plant in coco and against all advice I ended up topping it I think I got l lucky in the end, she was a dwarf of a plant but I got some decent smoke at the end of it all despite the many, many problems, I included a piccy below

Hey there Sou I am pretty fine apart from a bit of ashma from the "hazzard reduction" burn off national parks is doing over the border. could call them national sparks lol. How are things with you mate there in the UK?

Oh your friend lost his plant or were you going to gain another plant

Not sure of the power bills in the UK, they can get a bit steep in my state, i use T5 CFL lights they seem pretty good you can just touch them but they are pretty hot. I was doing 4.20 last grow, I thought why not let them have a little dark and sleep. A few mates run the 24 also. Easy than having to get up, what i was doign was at 5pm - 9pm (dark) that i can could just leave the lights on over night. Nice temperature, thats optimal , 22-25c.

What i did was the new soil i slightly damp it add bti and then dig the hole for the plant wet bottom a little plant her then gentle water around her. I got a special watering can with a kinked spout that works well. You want them to settle in but a gentle water arouund the seedlings drip line. IF you have good drainage maybe its fine to let some water coming from the bottom but they are still young, so maybe care has to be taken with waterings. Coco probably is different and retains the moisture more than soil maybe. I checked a recently seedling and gave her a dribble around her. as top was dry

She's a beauty, your coco grow, never that easy to grow Canna without issues, i ran into some myself actually.

Hello again, thats good to hear. :smoking: I hope you get well soon regarding the asthma, In the UK it's not so bad just lots of queing and people keeping themselves to themselves, cant complain tbh :smoking:
And yes one of my friends plants died, I was too late!
I might drop it to 20/4 when they are a little more developed as I don't wan't to stunt growth any more than I already have or I may just keep it 24.
So far I haven't watered until runoff I have just give then a nice water around the rootball and soaking the surrounding soil keeping it from drying out. Trying to follow a wet/dry cycle as best I can.

Greetings homies Little update, one of the FC has been unhappy since sprout, planted in light mix, same settings as the others. I think it's down to the low humidity, I haven't had the money to purchase a little humidifier so my rhumidity is always around 25 - 37, the lowest I have seen is 17rh yet the other plants seem to be doing okay, upped the watering today also, not till runoff but a good generous amount. The other girls seem to be coming along without problems so far, hopefully things can stay that way! I have some bio-silicone I'm going to start foliar feeding or maybe a soil soak at some point this week, if anyone has any experience using this stuff tips would be great
Edit: I have tried hanging towels out of bowls, spraying the hell out of my tent,leaving water wherever I can just to bring the rh up.
