Hi, please forgive me for how stupid I’m going to sound....
I’m in my 3rd grow and should probably know the answer to this (I think I do). When you see pictures of other people’s plants like this (thanks @Padawan1972 - was the first example I saw, so used it):

Has it been fully defoliated just before chop OR did it get to this level of defoliation during the duration of the grow? I’m 90% certain that this is just how people defoliate right before chopping and it makes for a great pic, but if I’m wrong please tell me!

bit of both probably but i do know that a plant with all its nasty yellow dead leaves striped off makes for a much nicer picture

So a couple things are or where happening here. Most of the fan leaves were being cannabilized by the plant towards the end and removed my me when the leaf was completely spent and yellowed. However, this girl was kinda touchy through out the grow. Some pH swings, etc. So some other leaves were removed due to them not being able to transport nutrients properly. Hense the bare looking plant. A full trim to remove remaining leaves and to "tighten" up the buds was fine when I chopped her.
I do like giving a full trim in the pot if I can though. Like this one recently done.

Oh..forgot to mention..some plants don't have slot of fan leaves..sparse even...this is one of those plants also
Thanks for clarifying. I’ve never stripped my ladies that bare whilst growing. Only at chop time but I see so many pics like yours I was beginning to wonder if I was missing a trick!
