My girls have responded well.
I left the ponytails on during lights on and took them off during lights out.

I did 2 sessions.

I just bumped up the light to 75% power at 24" also. I tried upping it 4 days ago and they didn't like it. Now they seem to.

They are 25 days old.

It’s an alternative to topping often done in combination with leaf tucking. I have done it a couple times myself and it’s effective at redirecting some growth to the lower branches.

How do they develop once the flowering stretch sets in? Will the middle shoot higher again or the canopy develop with even tops?

The center stalk does shoot up a bit but the side branches are much closer to it in height than they would normally be.
