Root mass and pot size

Is there a chart available for average root mass by week or stage of growth? So I could calculate a period of time for a given pot size without getting root bound.

For example: root is typically x-size by week-y of veg/flower.
I don't know if that make sense or not.

There is no chart like that that I know of. Every plant grows differently. If it's its a fabric pot, the roots will air prune. Root bound is almost impossible with a normal autoflower. It only lives like 65-70 days. I know growers that veg photo period plants in solo cups for that long. I don't think an auto becoming root bound is something you have to worry about.

I was just curious. I have some photo period seeds that I want to pop soon. However, I'm going to have space restrictions so I need my plants to stay small. I was going to use a 1 gal pot. But I want it to reach its max potential without root stress.

After I smoked and started thinking about it, I though since they are photo periods I can decide how big they get by controlling their veg cycle and when to flip. Example: If I know a plant left in veg for 3 months becomes root bound and needs to be trans planted then I could estimate the roots expand at an average rate of 1 gal per month in veg.

Likewise for flower. If I knew the roots grow at half the rate as they do in veg because they are focused on bud production I could estimate that if I let it veg for 3 weeks and allow 8 weeks of flower the plant would become root bound about at the end of the run in a 1 gal pot

How does a 6" cube contain the roots of a 6 foot plant? I'm also planning on growing in soil. I want to try out super low budget grow set ups and methods for fun.

So the easiest way to go would just be to use a fabric pot and let it air prune?

Six inch GroDan Hugo rock wool cubes and big ass plants.

The Panama Red in the left rear has been supercropped for about a 15 inch section and then she is over 60 inches tall in the space now so that would be 75 inches if i had not put the kink in her.

Holy shit bro! that's ridiculous. Yeah, like I said I want to try out some of the lowest budget methods possible. A fancy hydro system is awesome but it's way out of my price range.
I'm planning on running a 2x4 spider-farmer sf2000 kit for my actual smoke. But I want to just play around with budget grows as cheap as possible. To a lot of the serious/experienced growers this might seem a little laughable, but there are plenty of people out there who can't afford much of anything much less pot and are looking to grow.

I just read the thread on the Grove bags you shared, I was actually really happy you brought up the moisture meter in terms of budget lumber meters with the rep. These are exactly the hacks I'm looking for. I've seen people use the wood moisture meters, but I've never used them personally.

If you search this sight for the term "budget grows" you will find quite a few journals of people that have spent from $5 to $50 total and everything in between. There are sooo many ways to pull that off.
