Taproot retracts??

Hi all, so I've got a couple random bag seeds germing for shits and giggles, had a tap root show yesterday and when I checked this morning it had retracted back into the seed....anyone ever experience this?

They tend to do that when infected with the Corona virus.
Interesting, I've not come across a tap root that has retracted.
