Got some fastbuds plants a couple weeks into flower. Tons of lst. 2.5 EC. 65dli. General hydroponics flora. Fulvics, humics, and fox farms seaweed. Utilizing co2. They grow too fast. Furst grow was mephisto, got 1lb and a quarter off 2 plants. Probably wont yield as good judging how the stretchy/sativa freebie is. Strawberry gorilla is nice and compact.

I precharged my coco with humic/fulvic acid as a test. It seems to work well, certainly didnt hurt.

I must say, growing in the midwest in winter is wonderful. The air is crazy dry and freezing cold, so all i have to do is slightly open a laundry room vent and i have dehumidied/freezing air. I dont need an a/c or dehumidifier like in the summer.

The smells are picking up. Strawberry gorilla is slightly stinky/sweet. The gorilla zkittles has no garlic or kushy smells. Its just sweet. I like it.

I didnt like the kushy smells the appletizers put out, wonderful though they were.

Oh i have to tell you what happened. My grow room got super got for like 24 hours. 97degree leaf temp. There must be an air leak somewhere because i cant keep the rooms humidity up. So humidity was like 28%

The VPD was something like 2.5, possibly highrr. But the plants LOVED it they sucked ALL the water which hasnt happened yet. No burn. Theyre super happy and the DLI topped at 80 or so at the tallest branch. So i LST the tallest branches, boosted light to 70 dli at the tops, 50 or so at the lower sites.

These plants are troopers lol. I’ve got the DLI peaking at 90. EC 2.6. Added triacontanol. More humics. Plants are very happy but I’m having to train and defoliate every day to keep up with the extra leafage.

Can anyone tell me what in the world is wrong with this plant? This is fast Bud’s genetics. The flowers are incredibly thin and wispy. It was caused by too of low humidity. Thry look like pine needle bunches up close. The humidity has been fixed for a number of days now, but the buds don’t seem to be pulling out of it.

Mephiso didnt do this crap. And the plants were twice as big. AND im using co2 with these but NOT mephisto

Could be too much potassium that will cause thin twisted leaves

Every strain and pheno is different I grow multiple plants on a single Rez there's always someone not happy with the nute balance

OK this strawberry gorilla plant from fast buds is absolute bull crap. This is the worst genetics I’ve ever even seen. There’s absolutely zero trichromes, zero terpenes, all of the leaves are needle thin. I’m about to tear it out! Bullcrap nonsense plant. At this point, I 100% believe it will not recover. So I’m going to go pop another seed in the ground. Stupid fast buds. Bull crap and nonsense. Why are these plants even being put out with genetics this unstable? Stupid. This is why people hate auto flowers.

I went ahead and chopped down the strawberry gorilla plant. My experience with it is so bad I’m just throwing away the other seed. I wouldn’t be surprised if I never tried fast buds again. So irritating. Why would you release genetics that unstable?

I absolutely love the terps on the gorilla zkittles.

Ive made a few mistakes that i need to record. My first time running co2 i ran things too hot. I let temps get to 95, but i was pushing light and nutes too so i thought it would be okay. That hindered trichrome production i think because they arent super frosty so lesson learned. Ill only push to 85 max and only pre flower, after which ill start toning things down.

I saw a video where some random/youtube professional said 68 degrees is optimal for thc production. They said they ran a test and 5 degrees above 68 (73 degrees) caused significantly drop in potency.

so ive reduced leaf surface temps to 71 on average, im aiming for lower but its tough with no a/c. and this is going to reduce metabolism speed so i reduced lights to 50DLI at top, and nutrients are 2.3 EC. might drop lower. Co2 is kept at 600-800. Night time temps are roughly 60. Reds are coming into flowers. will take photos soon.

I also applied salicylic acid and chitosan to the roots. I also experimented by scratching the surface lightly and dripping salicylic acid/chitosan solution in cut. it was honestly probably overkill after applying to roots but i had time to burn.

Any other tips would be appreciated

Please understand, that some of the issues with the plant you’re upset about were possibly grower induced. Pushing dli that high will cause issues. High temperatures also.

When the plant leaves are straight up, or twisting… she’s trying to limit leaf exposure to the over abundance of light.

I’m sure you have a reason you’ve got the light turned up so high…. But it’s overkill. While some strains will tolerate it, others won’t.

They didn’t love it. They survived. They sucked all the water up to increase transpiration so they wouldn’t overheat…

different strains develop at different rates. Some take their time building structure before exploding with growth.

This is why people hate auto flowers.

People hate autos because they take more finesse and skill to grow. They don’t like the abuse photos will take.

We see lots of new growers struggling with autos because they want to “push the genetics to see what they are capable of”… it’s a sure way to run into problems. Back it down a bit…. The increased dli and co2 etc won’t give you better results unless things are absolutely perfect throughout, and then it’s not guaranteed. Lotsa folks here grow dank weed, without the overuse of electricity (light) or co2. It’s about providing a stable, happy environment so the plant can flourish to its potential.
