check your LGS (local grow store) - there are a couple in my area that have great prices and fun sales. one does a sidewalk sale on weekends with deals on used/promo stuff.

Depends on what kind of upgrades? If it's light or ventilation you might take a look at @Marshydro. They usually do a 420 promo
