UV Lights

Supplemental UV lights? Opinions? Worth buying?
Hey congratulations for joining afn. Good to have you aboard.

From what I understand using UV light has many benefits. One benefit of uv-light is to help keep down on mold spores. Powdery mildew does not like u v. There's other benefits to using u v in the finishing stages of your plant hi u v lighting will help Harden the buds.
I'm running a light experiment inside right now. This grow has a number of different parameters. One of the last parameters of the lighting is to use a 10K high output 315 CMH uv-light the last 2 weeks before Harvest 2 hours a day in 15 minute increments as a finisher for hardening the buds. Is it something I haven't done before but have read about it and have seen also many commercial Growers using this technique. I tried up for myself.

In the pic below I'm using three 30k full spectrum 315 CMH lights over top of eight plants with a light mover. There's an additional far red LED bars in the 730 NM range.

So try going on YouTube and just putting your question in the search bar and you come up with a lot of different people experimenting or have done this. Give it a shot. It's definitely worth it in the long run. Happy growing
