did you put some kind of screen to prevent vermin?
Didn't need to.
The space it goes into is sealed from vermin but also vented.

I used to think my attic was vermin proof until one came down my duct and hit the fan, whatta fuckin mess. I have bait packs in the attic now because I could never find how that damn rat got in. That is what made me think of your vent in the first place.
