Weak stems, browning hairs, and that funky waterlogged smell like this last September

Here's a pic of one that did this stretchy thing with the wild looking pods. And it does have like a water log smell. This happened to one of my o/d beds against a brick wall under an eve this last September after Mucho stretching and chopping all season.

The roots just smell like roots but the stems break or bend over easily and the plant is lightweight all together
 
You'd be better off posting this in the infirmary section, that's were the guys look for issues with plants. There's a form in the last sticky post, copy and paste, fill it in and you'll get help!
