Best way to check readiness is to check trichomes. Buy a pocket scope or usb camera etc, snip a piece of bud and see trichomes up close and personal. It appears that you have quite a few white pistils, normally indicating more time to grow.

I agree with your peers here, you should try and check the trichomes to gage when to harvest! They look very nice and healthy by the way =)
