Why so many girl scout cookie varieties?

So this should be a rather general question and not strain specific, but I noticed one site selling 5 different varieties of girl scout cookies. All from different breeders with different parents. How come they are all called the same? Just trying to cash in on the hype?

Imo.. Because auto are fairly new to most growers, and most growing autos are new to growing. Names/brands sell. There are a bunch of companies that sell autos that claim to be GSC, or Bruce Banner or whatever the hot photoperiod of the month is. Stick to reputable breeders that can and will answer questions about lineage.
