Hey Now,
I have to admit defeat with HGS. I have nothing to report. I filled two 5 gal pots with the sample. That worked out to the desired mix. I had six pots I was working with. Only two pots after 4 attempts sprouted anything. This was a hard time for me as I tried to germ 4 times, out of twenty four seeds I got two! I tossed all the soil mixtures in the four pots left from this fiasco!
I really never got the chance to test HGS and I am sure it was not the culprit either.
Sorry I think there may have been potential but I just cannot say, not having been able to run it.

Hey,
No I cannot say for sure. It turned out to be about six weeks and 30 beans down the drain, not to mention six weeks of growing!
I have since changed my tactics and plant directly in the soil, no more shot glasses, paper towels, etc. No more fancy, just soak the pot, let rest a few days, soak again and plat a seed the next day. I am currently 10 for 13 and am very happy about that.
Damn shame too, I really wanted to give the HGS a shot. It really sounded like it should do something good.

*** I want this to stand out. Harvest Gold Silica was in no way responsible for any of this. I do not know why I had so many problems but I had them in every pot, all six of them, and only two had HGS mixed in. ***

I fully believe the silica didnt do it. I add it to my soil mix. But i normally did the seed in dirt germination. I actually recently switched to the mephisto method (toilet paper, dvd case, growlight) after having a few soil seeds not start or not come up (tho thabk the gods it wasnt 30)
I was hoping you found it and i was just doing something dumb and wrong.
