The Legal and Swedish way to grow Cannabis in Sweden
Hi guys, i will break the law, but not in the sense of act or in a criminal offence. When i say break, i mean: use the law as support and guidance to not risk any tickets or god forbid- a sentence of prison-time for a crime i not have commit nor planned- something else would be a waste of time and might even be unlegal. So, ready, set. go me, alone against the big furious laws. Subject: The legal way to grow cannabis in Sweden. So I got some of these "Quick One" seeds from Royal Queen Seeds and this is one of them that took. I tried to LST it but I ended up removing most of the clips however the plant has stayed in the same spot/position, no change in growth direction after LST clips removed. Anyway its supposed to be a short fast growing plant because of the ruderalis in it but idk if its me or if it actually looks a little funky. What do you all think about this little guy? For some reason I cant upload the photos, or even put them on an image hosting site so ill try this, who knows if itll work. https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCtkgZ
Is It Done Yet!
This is one of the most often asked question on every grow forum. It's maybe your first grow, your excited about your success so far, and eager to reap the rewards. You've got anywhere from 2-8+ oz. on the plant just staring back at you. Is it done yet? You're often told to look at the trichromes for amber, this being a great way to judge how racey or sleepy the effects can be. But I seldom hear anyone say that you have to be checking the buds, NOT the leaves. Lower left, you'll see full amber. This is the sign your Oracle predicted! LET'S CHOP!!!!!!!11111 Hold on there a minute... If you look at the rest of the picture you'll see lots of fresh pistils coming out, the others have just started to turn, and haven't shriveled...
Auto topping thread, pushing the auto limits;)
Good day growers im a master photo and auto grower.but my passion is with autoflower seeds.i been on a mission for 5 years growing now trying diffrent methods of training on autos to see what they truly behold.truth is autos aint no diffrent to a normal plant other than they flower on there own.u can top lst supercrop and defol autos with monster results if done at the correct time.oviously every plant is diffrent so always use the seed info as a rough guide;) and a short plant can yield just as much as a tall plant;) in this thread i will show u all along the way of the true limits of autos and there true potential as i grow them for u all to see;).also if ur an auto grower who likes to push the limits,do speak up and all pics of ur...
I grew up farming to live. I'm not saying nor believe my way Is best. My first grow was 4 plants and equated 5.76 pounds dry flowers. 3 lights, 3 strains Mephisto hubbabubba, purpleroc v1, GG before g4 auto. Topped 2 toed two down. MARS SMALLEST 75 dollar light x2, 1 burple half way working Nutrients Advanced grow micro bloom with ape. Coco loco grow medium. The only things I got right was choosing Mephisto and Roc. And I humbly believe consistency..at week 10 i had the biggest colas I've ever seen in a 5 gallon. This is Just my experience
Cannabis Leaf Cannagars
Hello everyone, I have been experimenting with rolling some cannagars lately and wanted to share my process of rolling one up with some actual fresh cannabis leaves! This means it's 100% cannabis. If you haven't tried it before I'd definitely recommend it, I much prefer it to wraps or papers now. It's not super easy persay but there are a few things you can do to make it easier that I'll highlight. I've also wasted quite a bit of cannabis/concentrates and my time trying to get it right so hopefully this can help save someone else some time/money. For this guide you will need A cannagar mold Rolling glue 62 boveda pack Wide mouth mason jar Parchment paper Something heavy Way of making/obtaining concentrate (optional) Step one would be...
Introduction to DWC Hydroponics - "DWC for Dummies" course is in session. 5 gallon buckets and cheap nutrients, lets go!
This came up on the live stoner chat the other day, several guys said they had interest in DWC but was worried it was too complicated. DWC (Deep Water Culture) is one of the many hydroponic methods. I've also done Kratky. And lots of people have good luck with RDWC, Ebb and Flow, and many others. DWC and Kratky are probably the most straight forward, with the only difference being DWC has the air stone added to add additional oxygen to the water for the roots. The Kratky method relies on not refilling the container fully, and the roots growing "air roots" which absorb oxygen from the moist air. I have grown some monster tomatoes with the kratky method, so it works really well too. This will be my 5th run of autoflowers using DWC as...
Changing the light cycle late
I'm about 50 days in and maybe have another 3 weeks to go. I'm running 20/4. During the 4 off my temps drop below 70°F and humidity rises to near 70% . I think it would be fine to go 24hrs on at this point to help keep temps up and humidity down. I'm just checking what you all think? Captain Redbeard Big Bud autos in 2 tents.
Whats the result of 12/12 on autoflowers? Continuous Growth: Autoflowers will continue their growth and flowering, regardless of the light cycle. They won't delay or prolong their flowering phase due to changes in the light schedule. Unaffected Flowering Time: Autoflowers will flower at their usual time, which is predetermined by their genetics and age, typically within a few weeks from germination. Yield and Size: With a 12/12 light cycle from start to finish, autoflowers might potentially yield less or have smaller plants compared to those grown under longer light periods, like 18/6 or 20/4, which are more commonly recommended for these plants to maximize growth. With all that said It seems to me like 12/12 would be optimal for...
Howdy All I’m researching a simpler nutrient feeding approach and came across Nature’s Living Soil. Follow the instructions for mixing super-soil. Use my fresh RO water which normally has a PPM of 15-20 and using fresh so the pH doesn’t change. Buffered and pH’d to 6.4-7.0. I have my 1st quality pH pen coming, Apera PH60 once it is here if my fresh RO doesn’t pH in that range I will probably check out spring water as I am not ready to invest in organic pH up and down, although I guess I could use lemon juice and baking soda. When watering don’t water to get overrun. IS IT REALLY THAT EASY? I’ve read the tutorial on growweedeasy.com. https://www.growweedeasy.com/just-add-water-super-soil-grow-guide-easy-organic-weed I’ve researched...

Hi all...I didn't see anything specific on tent set ups and so forth... So I'm going to sticky this thread for any questions and answers that you members with tents, can answer... Also, if you have any pics of how your tent is set up, please post them...Pictures say a 1000 words... Basically, as far as pics go, mostly looking for how yours is set up...Not so much about the plants... Thanks for your cooperation and I hope this thread gets the attention that new tent buyers, like myself, can gain some info...:peace:
Sharing some things I have learned doing Deep Water Culture with cannabis. Technically what I use is called “Bubbleponics”. First your environmental needs must be met - light, temperature, humidity and air movement all need to be in range for plants to grow well. I will assume you understand these basic concepts. The rules for a good DWC are simple but not very forgiving. Plants respond adversely quickly to something out of range. The good thing is that they will also respond well to a correction quickly. DWC is an everyday task; in fact checking your plants many times a day can keep you ahead of needs. Two tools that you cannot do without are a good PH meter and a EC meter; both should be equipped with a temperature gauge as well...
I like making seeds. I use CS to reverse a whole plant, collect pollen, and apply pollen to a single branch of my seed/bud plant. I only pollenate a low single branch, and a smallish one at that. So, when I do seeds, I get both bud and seeds from one plant. So, I have a question for you seedsters out there, will pollenation of one branch affect the bud quality elsewhere on the plant? I ask because it may make sense for a plant to direct resources to seedmaking rather than filling in buds elsewhere. However, I have not seen a test of this issue to determine whether this hypothetical issue is real. I have not done enough growing myself to know, so am keen to hear if others have information. Happy growing peeps. :pighug:
Choosing Autoflower Seeds: The Indoor Edition
Choosing Autoflower Seeds: The Indoor Edition (beginner-intermediate) Choosing the right strain is never an easy task!! The options are vast, and spread across hundreds, even thousands of companies, not to mention the variety of options available including Photoperiod, Autoflower, Light Sensitive Photoperiod, and Fast Version Photoperiod plants. Many companies sell Feminized(all female seeds), but very few also sell regular non-feminized seed which will contain males and females. For the non breeder, feminized seed is generally the best option. Autoflower strain breeders very rarely offer regular non-feminized seed for sale. Feminized options are generally best for new growers, but also lots of veteran growers prefer to use feminized...
Another common question I see is when to switch autos from veg to bloom. Many people are under the impression that as soon as they see the first flowers it's time to switch. Perhaps a little explanation of the life cycle of autos will help to clarify this. Weeks 1 - 3. Once you've started your seeds and they break the surface of the soil, they are in their seedling stage. The first set of leaves to appear will usually single fingered, followed by a second set that may still be single fingered or perhaps 3 fingered. Once that second set appears growth will start to accelerate as the new leaves provide more photosynthesis. This process will continue, more new leaves, faster growth. Depending on the type of soil in use, mild...
Cannabis and its response to light (a discussion about leaf lift)
Ok guys, i am in a chatty mood this morning and i wanted to gather some fresh information for the soon to come Art of The Auto section. During my years of growing i have noticed a phenomenon in my plants that i could never really explain other than pure health and response to the light that they were growing under, and that is leaf lift. You see it after the lights come on and they stay that way all day, as if they are praying to the light that they are under. Most outdoor growers probably see this more than the indoor guys do but, i think that if the environment is right. Youll see it inside just as much as you would outside. To me i always saw it as the plant activating its suction method of moisture from the soil. Now this is...
Topping vs Training
What's up fellow stoners and cannabis cultivators :smoking: It's been a minute since I've had an active thread and I just so happen to have these 2 beautiful ladies. Both Forum Stomper bred by Mephisto Genetics. Germinated and moved to soil together about 10 days old now pretty well twins but everything about the one in the air pot is bigger, so why not a vs run. I will be topping the plant in the airpot and only training the one in the fabric pot. The topped plant will see some training as well. I have been seeing alot of questions about topping vs training I hope this thread will help answer some questions out there. I will update on feeding days and any time they receive any training and on topping day which is already close. I...
Cliff-notes ver… I did a 6 bean pheno hunt of sorts.. one turned out to be a male. (He was beautiful looking back) As it was my first run of regs, i missed the signs (plus 6 beans (1 gal) was way full tent action!) So when I noticed it was for sure male over Christmas wknd…it dropped pollen cpl days at minimum before u could call Kull the conqueror. and of course he was at the back of the tent so getting him out.. i just felt I was bound to be a Seed-poppa soon. i am wonder/asking for tips tricks, sage advice.. 1 i was going to give some samples to the homies, but now that i know they are seeded potentially heavily, i kinda want to see if they are viable and keep my own stash, albeit MUCH sooner than i had planned on the seed hobby...
Temp and Humidity and Light Cycle
I am 49 days into this grow in my garage. 21/3 light cycle. The tent is running in the mid 70Fs with 50-60% rH with lights on. Lights off and the temp goes into the low 70s high 60s with a humidity in the 80s. I have 4 fans moving air inside the tent constantly. Do I run a risk of mold/mildew if I continue with lights off numbers like this for just 3 hours? Would running the light 24/0 at this point cause the plants to hermie or other issues?
Bubble Hash Made Simple
heres tutorial on how to make some BUBBLE HASH THE TRICHOME FARMER WAY HERES WHAT YOU NEED bubble bags a 2 bag set will work with 220micron work bag and a 25micron bottom bag to catch the resin the more bags you have the more refined the final product will be next up. a mixing spoon anything that is good and rigid will work just fine a 25micron pressing screen not essential but very handy to have most bubble bag sets come with one if not the internet will provide also a couple of towels or paper towels to wick some moisture from the hash before freezing make sure your bags are in the right order largest micron size at the top so in my case this goes 220 . 160. 75 and 25 you will need a 25l bucket to fit the bags into iv mine...
Cannabis: Terpenes and Their Effects
Terpene1 - any of a large group of volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants, including cannabis (with over 120 terpenes) which play a large part in the aromas and flavours of plants. Cannabinoids are a class of terpenophenolic (part terpenoid, part phenol) compounds. While terpenes are hydrocarbon groups created by various combinations of the isoprene units that make them up, and may be aromatic, all phenols are aromatic hydrocarbons, which means they have a very pronounced aroma. Terpenoids are compounds related to terpenes but may also include oxygen or have molecules rearranged; the terms are often used interchangeably. Cannabinoids, being half terpene and half phenol, have very pronounced aromas and...
Cannabis: Forms and Types (Beginner-Advanced) These days there are a lot of different types of cannabis plants available...between standard photoperiod strains, light sensitive photoperiod strains, fast version photoperiod, semi-autos, and standard autoflowering plants, whew! As well as the 3 standard types of cannabis, indica, sativa, and ruderalis, also a mix of the three which are classified as hybrids. What does this all mean? Lets first delve into the 3 main types of Cannabis. All photoperiod and autoflowers are either Indica, Sativa, Ruderalis(autoflower), or a combination of any of the 3 in a hybrid. The 3 types have very different characteristics. Indica - These are the base strains for heavy narcotic stones. These strains...
Just listened to a Growcast episode from 7/18. The guest mentioned that there is a study showing that an effective criteria for determining whether to defoliate a particular leaf is 200mmol/m2/s. This is because below this level it takes more energy to maintain that leaf than the leaf provides back to the plant. Just wondering if anyone has seen this study and where I could score a read - sounds like a very interesting idea. Thanks in advance. :pass:
Ponytail LST
My girls have responded well. I left the ponytails on during lights on and took them off during lights out. 18/6 I did 2 sessions. I just bumped up the light to 75% power at 24" also. I tried upping it 4 days ago and they didn't like it. Now they seem to. They are 25 days old. Ethos Pluto Cut and 420Fastbud CBD. I love growing.
Eveing all. New to the site. Spent the last few hours going through here. Great site, learnt so much already. I have been growing autos now for a number of years. Outdoor grows, in pots. I grow 4 plants a year, two cbds, and two low thcs, nothing above 13% level. I tried photos, with very poor success, due to climate and rot, also the time it took them wasn't practical for me. I had a successful year this year. I have been doing a bit of reading up in ruderails, regular, and am very interested in them. I bought a pack of seeds of sensi seeds. My question to members who know more than me, is, can I breed these with feminized autos to produce some of my own seeds. Or would I be better off, using a regular auto strain.
You don't need an auto pot to use an airdome. Just use a fabric smart pot, hydro pebbles, and coco. I'm doing a control now with 4 plants that have 4 air domes and the rest of the plants do not, its around 8 plants without that are the same age. The 4 with the air domes are out growing the other plants by about 35%. They're taller, bigger and more leaves, and growing a lot faster. I have 3 of them tied down and its putting on limbs like crazy. I think this is a big enough grow for a control group to compare. Your opinion may be different, but they are getting 15 liters of air an hour 24/7 and its night and day difference. THey're cheap, easy to set up and zero maintenance ..You really should try a couple..You place the airdome in the...
baged this from someplace else it was posted by Mutt a long time ago great info though. What reflective materials can I use for my grow room? Choosing the right surface for the walls of your grow room is very important, as up to 40% of your total yield comes from the edge, and the right wall surface can increase the amount of light those plants receive by up to 30%! Artificial lighting diminishes exponentially with distance, so it is important to ‘contain’ as much of this light as possible, and direct it accordingly. Reflective surfaces also help illuminate the lower portions of the garden, providing lower buds with light and heat energy. To get the best results with your light and walls, it is important to get the walls as close as...
Cloning On The Cheap
What's up AFN? I was inspired by @Son of Hobbes' "Operation Compassion Care" thread, to post a tutorial, "Dollar Tree Meets Wally World: Grow Meds On The Cheap". I've been thinking of what the next step is for a new grower after they complete their first grow . For most new growers, the answer is to buy new seeds, which can be very costly. Cloning is a priceless skill to acquire. It may seem to be a very technical application of growing, and maybe it is, but it doesn't have to be an intimidating process. I am going to put up a "bare bones" tutorial on how to do it on the easy, and on the cheap. I am going to do it as one consecutive post, so let's get stared! Tools Needed Alcohol Scissors/Shears Box Cutter/Blade Permanent...
Hard water values x Coco coir
Hi guys,I managed ti harvest 2 big plants in my First Coco attempt. It was spring and my tap water was 0.4-45 EC maximum. Now,I am having a Little different experience now in Summer,EC Is 0.5-6 maximum and the water report of my city changed a bit.I take my chance and tag @Mañ'O'Green Who has helped me before to read those values. Please Just let me know if this tag has bothered or Is not polite.I thank all of you guys in Advance. I dilute It to 0.4 EC with distilled and then put half recommended dosage of Coco A+B.I then pH to 5.8 but It takes a lot of pH down (nitric acido from Canna at 3%) What do you think?
Topping Autoflowers - why and how
Topping an autoflower is a choice. If you have the room and height to let her grow then the choice is yours. If, like me you have vertical restrictions then you might want to consider topping. There are many threads in AFN about topping (@autobeast is one of them) but I just thought a quick demonstration with the results after a week would give first timers the confidence to give it a go. When ever and where ever you top the plant will give you different results. Each set of large leaves off the main stem will produce a side branch that will turn into a small cola, this is called the node. The more light this cola gets, the bigger it gets but never usually as big as the main central cola. If you top the plant, the main cola is removed...
Harle-tsu FirsTime
Hello group my name is Nez, I am paralyzed from my shoulders down and wanted to grow CBD. So he chose Harle tsu, I was surprised to find out the seeds I purchased auto flower and started to see budding add around three or four weeks. I have no idea what to do so I just let it grow! Now it is going on nine weeks and the flowers are pretty big. I don't want to overgrowth them so this is where I need your help, please look at the pictures I am posting and let me know your thoughts. Thank you!
Growing Mediums In order to serve as a suitable replacement for soil, the substrate must be capable of supporting the root system, accumulating moisture and nutrients. It should be inert, free of insects and diseases, and durable. Moreover, the substrate should permit adequate aeration of the roots, and have first-rate drainage ability. Plants roots need sufficient access to oxygen from the air, in order to grow and take up water and nutrients. Poor drainage can lead to decreased growth, stunting, wilting, and discoloration of the leaves- in the worst cases “drowning the plant.” There are several different types of growing mediums used in hydroponic gardening, none of which are soil. These mediums are considered to be...
The Bedroom Gardeners Bible - 50 Page Auto Grow Guide.
The Bedroom Gardeners Bible - Revised 2018 / 19. I created an Autoflower Grow Guide for beginners a few years back, and have recently updated it. There's always issues with sharing things via PDF, so I've printed the document in JPG form and uploaded it exclusively to Autoflower.net Hope this is of use to you some of you. If necessary, I'm sure I'll find somewhere online to keep a PDF copy.
A beginners guide to LED's
Colorado Dreaming’s Ultimate LED Guide So here we are. We decided to grow some weed and all your research shows you the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. Meanwhile, all you want to want to know is what lights will work best for your grow without damaging your new babies. Well you have have found the right place. Especially if you want just the facts and no bullshit salesman gimmicks or sci-fi scientist talk. With that being said, there are a few basics we must cover and I will do my best to explain them in layman stoner terms. Also to avoid confusion, discount everything else you have read. You will find most of it aligns with what I have to say however there are some misconceptions which I will address...
When to harvest autos? Your leaves will tell you.
One of the most frequently asked questions is how do I know when my autos are ready to pick? The convention wisdom from growing photo period plants was to watch for color change in the trichomes, or crystals. For an uplifting high, harvest when the trichomes are all cloudy, for more of a stone, wait till a percentage have turned amber. Sound advice, for photos. But autos are a little different. While some strains have shown amber trics, many do not. So how do I know when they are ready? I watch the the fan leaves. Over the past several years of growing autos I started taking samples at various stages of growth to evaluate the high. I tend to prefer my smoke with a little stone so began to leave them longer than the 8-9 weeks...
Germination: The Ronin Way
Welcome. :Sharing One: I have been asked by a few members what my germination method is. So I have decided to post my process so it will be available to all to reference. Let's get to it.. My method is using the following: Root Riot cubes ( or Rapid Rooters) Glad container Wifi router ( cable or satellite box will work too) I prefer to use Root Riot cubes or Rapid Rooters. When seeds cost $5-15 I like to make them germ on the first shot. A bag like this cost me an average $25us. Next, Choose your seeds. For this demonstration I'll be using my Little Richard beans. Now place a seed into the hole at the top of the rooter cube. Once the seed is in, push it down approximately 1/2" (12mm) It should be far enough in the cube as to...
Hello AFN ! Something is unclear to me regarding the post germination process, i.e the phase where we plant the sprouted seed in her final pot. Should I wet the soil, or not ? If so, to what extent ? Last time (first grow) I didn't humidify the soil and I think that maybe the plant was stunted - but maybe I'm wrong lol ! Anyway, if someone could clarify this step, It will be a relief because I will start my second grow very soon... Thanks !
ProMix HP and Mega Crop One Part
Trying a couple of new things this grow. King Gelato Fem Auto from AutoCanada. First, germinated fully in distilled water, ~ 1/4" tap root after 36 hours. Do Not miss the whole paper towel thingee  Cut open an older bag of ProMix Hp and found it to be quite dry. Filled up my yogurt containers and wet with a 75% solution of Mega Crop's recommendation for seedlings/early veg. Common knowledge seems to be to wait two to three weeks to start feeding but in what medium ? Maybe a bit early to judge but color looks good, no signs of burning and the first set of leaves are still green. Comments ? Day 9 above ground.... Cheers.
Can someone school me on EC/TDS
Howdy Y’all! :toke: Not sure if I posted this in the proper place, please move if not but I need some edjumakatin’ :baked: A couple weeks ago on my SSSC G&S post it was mentioned that my EC levels were way too high:yoinks: Up until that point I had only one “guide” to use, which was this one from Fox Farms It was at that time that I was given this EC chart by @SuperSativaSeedClub-David.:thanks: As you can see there is a significant difference in the EC levels ! I started out playing with the EC levels because I decided to try my first DWC bucket grow a couple months ago. It’s been going very well, so much so that I will most likely switch over to all DWC this fall. When I was having leaf yellowing issues in soil, (Mendel Below)...
Fixing Broken Stems
In our eagerness to do everything faster than nature intends we all have snapped shoots. This one was a topped auto. It snapped to a hang, just held by a sliver. I put a silicone blister bandaid on it, and held it in position while I wrapped it tight A week later, it's doing fine you must do this immediately, time is of the essence.
Solo Cup secrets [wanted]
I was going to plant this out, but I've changed my mind and decided to grow the plant in it's 5" pot. I am hoping to get something like what I've seen in a good solo cup challenge. This is purely for fun and to make use of my photon spill. I have obtained a seedling mix with fertiliser already in it and I mixed in some perlite, I used that to surround the little eazyplug, for the bottom of the pot, I mixed in a little extra tomato compost also with added fertiliser, into the seedling mix and put that in the bottom 2". Mixture is loose and damp, but not wet. My plan is to use the GP3 nutrients I'm using for my hydro, in fact I can just scoop some out of my reservoir but I'm happy to mix up something tailor made. I have not used any...
Hi all. So I made it to the end of my first grow with a critical auto. Had a power cut at one stage for a day but made it to the end with a pretty small yield. Nutrition: Sensi grow and sensi bloom part a and b. I used the recommended dosage per litre on the bottle and watered every second day or so. Medium: Soil with John innes and mixed with about 30% perlite. Led: Generic small light, this is probably a big factor. Also my humidifier shorted the light out at 70% at one point causing a power cut. Going to upgrade this soon to a spider 300w with Samsung diodes that's hopefully a bit more waterproof. Grow tent: 2.5 X 2.5ft My next grow is likely to be Jack herer. Possibly going for 3 to 4 of them. Should I change to a different...
Greetings AFNers. i am bout 60 days or so in to my first and of course am starting to plan my next grow. Some frivolous details.. My current ‘Lab’ is a 27x27x60 in a closet grow, i have one ‘Skydancer’ in a 5 gal fabric (truth be told it’s probably like 3.5 gal full: just being transparent) and she is taking up like nearly ALL of the space with only her.. I am just doing some minor LST tying down and tucking before that since this is my first grow and i wanna ‘just observe‘ primarily this first go.. no Defoliation or Super cropping…Im running in Super-ish-soil that i custom mixed with FFOF and FFHF as bases and some organic amendments and some other macro goodies.. been perfect so far! i am going to do another round of beans when...
Hi everyone, I'm planning of using a scrog net for my next grow, it will be 2 blackberry auto from DP in 16L fabric pot , grow tent 0.8m x 0.8m x 1.8m, 2 mars ts1000 (one each basically). My plan is to topped at 5th internode and apply the net straight way, in the end of the day vertical grow is not important as I have to "cover" the whole net , is it right? Would you topped before ? 4th or even 3rd internode? If plants was photo, no problem, as you can manage the switch, but with auto? Any thoughts/ideas/suggestion/personal experience will be much appreciated. Thanks for reading and happy growing. :d5:
25 things I wish I knew starting out (most of which I learned on AFN). I put this list together as an attempt to make a list of important concepts I have learned on this journey – and that I wish I had known from the start. Maybe it will accelerate a new grower's learning curve. This is in no specific order of priority. All of these are IMHO, and YMMV. I am certain some will disagree. Please feel free to add your own, asks questions, and thanks! 1. (Hydro): Nutrient balance – trying to add this and that to correct a perceived deficiency usually doesn’t work just makes it out of balance – just do a res change. Understand the concept of balanced nutrients. 2. (Hydro): root health is the key (many paths to this one)...
Hey folks, new grower here, I will be potting up some Autos next week, I don't want to transplant though, for my last grow I used plant magic supreme soil but fancy a change this time round, I've been looking at batmix from Plagron, from what I've read it's way too hot for seedlings and as I mentioned I'd rather not transplant any of my autos. I was thinking about layering their bat mix with their light mix. Would this still carry the risk of burning them? I'm in 2 minds at the minute, do I just say fuck it and use their light mix instead or layer bat mix at the bottom and light mix at the topif I go down that path I'm not really sure the ratio I should use, any advice would be very much appreciated
Hey All, I have 3yrs on and off experience with DWC. Here are a list of some of the lessons I have learnt on my journey. Most of these I have learnt the hard way, and I want to pass what I know on so nobody runs into the same issues I have. Some of these will bleed into each other. If one goes wrong its likely another will follow. 1) PH. Check PH every day or so. You want to maintain as close to 5.8 as you can. As it can fluctuate a bit, which is fine to a degree. If it's continously rising over a few days, consider the solution temperature. Which leads me on to number 2. 2) Solution temperature. Optimal range is 18-20c, which can be a challenge. Specially when the tent environment is a fair bit higher and the buckets are...
Having a problem finding info on silver thiosulfate on autoflower for feminized seed production. As of lately my colloidal silver isn’t creating male flowers on my newer strains I am trying to grow in an ebb and flow coco coir setup .STS seems to be my next step. How often do you spray an autoflower ? Photo period plants you apparently spray once a week. If anyone has another alternative I am all ears. I am also going to try tiresias mist. My ph is between 5.7 and 6.2. Thank you for your consideration .
SCHOOL DAZE (seed to jar)live guide
Welcome to school daze. This is the new growers school. Here I'm going to be doing a live week to week simple guide to growing autos in soil. Will be a basic easy to follow guide. No big fancy words no crazy wild stuff. Just a basic guide from start to smoke. Seed to jar. We shall cover basic lighting Basic nutrients Show a lot of how to and when to with light hight , room conditions , low stress training , watering and all the rest of all the stuff I have picked up here from AFN in my short time of growing. Feel free to ask all the questions pertaining to the week/subject you would like. If I don't know the answer #iknowaguy or gal Well class is in session!
So I’m almost ready to start my first auto grow, I’ve purchased a 32x32x63 tent with a mars hydro 300w LED and a Viparspectra reflector series 300w LED, along with some Happy frog soil and the Fox farm trio nutrients. I’m gonna be growing 3 plants at the most, probably a critical purple auto, a GG auto, and a Tangerine dream, all purchased from Growerschoiceseeds. The only problem I’m running into thus far is figuring out how much to water my plants throughout the entire grow, and also how use the Trio nutrients. It’s just all confusing to me because the schedule it comes with is for photo periods. I’ll be growing in 3 gallon pots, running a 20/4 light schedule. Any help would be much appreciated seeing as my tent and soil should be...
Clarifying different watering “protocols”
First-timer here. I have been reading everything I can find but I’m still perplexed. I have ILGM plants 15 days above ground in 5gal fabric pots, Kellogg organic potting soil (30% perlite, too), HLG 600Rspec at 24” and minimum brightness; humidity ~65%, temps ~74. I had been slowly increasing volume, last up to ~500ml Filtered tap water pH 6.3-6.5 every 2-3days when the topsoil was dry in the top couple inches. Had some mild drooping (I’m told - see pic) and a bit of yellowing on the lower leaves and was advised I’m likely over watering; told to go by pot weight instead. I’m now day 5 since last water, lower part of pot still feels like it may have some water, but upper 3” of soil is completely dry and crumbly (and feels...
School daze KISS seed to finish guide
Hello again old stoners and hello new growers and stoners. This will be my revised KISS (keeping it super simple) live tutorial/guide. This grow along I will show everyone step by step how I grow. Super easy to follow. Low cost and easy to do. Items needed for the grow Grow space and equipment Good lighting Autopots(optional)* Fox farms ocean forest soil. Technaflora pura Vida bloom nutes. Ph up/down depending on water source Reliable Ph meter. Good seeds (works with both autos/photos) * autopots are recommended but absolutely can do the same thing with out. Bottom feeding is all it comes down to. Much like the first guide we will cover basics on everything from start to finish Grow space ,equipment , lighting, seed...
Hi everyone, In your experience, what are the strains that stay small to fit a 80x80x180 cm tent ? I'm currently growing 4 plants in that space, unfortunately I didn't pay enough attention to the strains I was given... One of the girl is a Royal Dwarf auto and she stands by her name, no problem. There is also an Amnesia Haze auto that doesn't seem to end her stretch lol ! I tried to crop her a little but as first time grower I'l a little scared to hurt her... For my next run I would like to select bushy strains. Any input ? Happy growing !
Autoflower Defoliation
I took this picture a few days ago. Since then the whole interior of the plants are covered by huge fan leaves preventing light from getting to the other flower sites. I tried tucking but the leaves sprung back up. Can I defoliate, and if so, how much, or how often? The 2 bigger plants are 5 weeks old Berry Ryder.
Soil As we know, there are many types of soil, and we need to know what's best for growing our plants in. If your going to growing in soil and do so organically, what do you really need? How much do we really need to do to get quality soil? I'll not give your soil breakdown info, there are thousands of pages out there on that. We will work with premixed soils for a starting base. Soil for growing is really comprised of a base mix, and an admix. potting soil is a base mix. Its loam ( hopefully... ), a little humus and a filler meant to hold air and water. An ad mix is the added fillers and nutrients we amend the soil with such as kelp meal and lime. What should we use as a base mix? Well, we could mix our own from scratch, using sand...
I'll be trying to keep this short, if l can. I've been growing for 2 years now and I'll tell you that I've screwed up everytime. First, I've really never had not one of the plants I've grown reach their full potential. For one, I've over loaded these plant with far too much neutrient at every stage of their growth. It is true that the photoperiods I've grown have been pretty good. I know now that photoperiods can take the higher strength nutrients. But, these were also burnt but not too bad. I started growing autos for more then one reason. The quick turn around, they need less room, and the quality is still there. I've been burning up my plants and didn't really know that I was. The buds were big and firm, had nice trichomes but...
Hey folks I'm a first time AF grower, although I've got quite a lot of experience with regular plants. Does anyone have recommendations and/or a progressive wattage timetable or schedule for AF's? I'm running an HLG 550 R-spec V2 with the 30 Watt UVA bar. Now in week three I dimmed it up to around 225 Watts, beginning the whole process week 1 at 140 W, plus the 30W UVA blue lightbar. I'd love to run it up as I have a lot if wattage to not being used now. When can I give them full throttle? Thanks in advance:bow: :baked:
Effects of Light Intensity on Plant Growth
Greetings, AFN members, OSP here. I’m a new AFN member moving in from another forum. After sneaking around a number of threads here looking for secret information, I’ve decided to start this thread. I want to evaluate the effects of light intensity on plant growth. More specifically, how lighting can be used to encourage or minimize plant stretch. In the short time I’ve been a member here I’ve met a number of very knowledgeable growers, and I’m inviting each of you to participate or chime in as you see fit. Since I am new to AFN I’m sure I’ve missed a lot of interested parties. If you are reading this feel free to tag in anyone I’ve missed: @fettled6 @912GreenSkell @bushmasterar15 @Waira @MedGrower @Son of Hobbes @Nosias...
I found this video from 2014. He is trying to geminate 15 year old marijuana seeds. It helps if the seeds are stored in a cool dry place. GA3 is Gibberellic acid. "Gibberellins have a number of effects on plant development. They can stimulate rapid stem and root growth, induce mitotic division in the leaves of some plants, and increase seed germination rates.[4] Gibberellic acid is sometimes used in laboratory and greenhouse settings to trigger germination in seeds that would otherwise remain dormant.[3] It is also widely used in the grape-growing industry as a hormone to induce the production of larger bunches and bigger grapes, especially Thompson seedless grapes. In the Okanagan and Creston valleys, it is also used as a growth...
Maximizing Outdoor Autos - Guide to Growing Under the Sun
Hello ladies and gents!! I wrote a guide on photoperiod plants, and now after a few years of growing Autoflowering outdoors(some very well, and some failures), I feel I have it down enough, that I can make a useful guide for those wanting to run some autos under the great 1billion watt hps in the sky. This guide will be focused toward the home grower, which will certainly get the best results, but hopefully it'll also be fairly useful for Guerilla Growers. Autos and your Climate First thing is first...you own individual location and the weather. Will the weather be nice and warm throughout the whole cycle of the autos growth? More than 2-3 days of extended cold days and nights can stunt early growth in plants, and can severely limit...
Fast buds gelato
First time orgainic grower here . Looking for some feedback. Autoflowers 9 days since seeds went in the jiffy pellets 6 days above ground 3 days in final pots Seeds. Fast buds Strain gelato Soil 25% perlite 50% compost/moss peat mix 20% worm castings in a 9 little fabic pot. I have the 25% worm castings in the bottom of the pot then the rest of the mix on top.
Ruderal Species of Plants "WHAT ARE RUDERAL SPECIES OF PLANTS?" Ruderal species are plant species described as those that are first to adapt to/colonize lands disturbed by either natural forces (like fires, flooding, etc) or human forces (construction, roads, mining, agricultural, etc.) During or after these disturbance events, it's common for the preexisting competitive plant community to have been decimated or disrupted (typically killed off,) which greatly decreases the competitive biological demand for resources and leaves a non-competitive area for plant growth with freely available resources. Plants that quickly take advantage of this temporary circumstance are referred to as being “ruderal.” Ruderal species of plants...
Hello everybody, I am a new contributer here, but I have been lurking around for some time, with two grows under my belt now, second time, pretty successful achieving over 5oz on my purple punch autoflower alone. So, everyone has seen the famous @autobeast threads regarding his guides using ph perfect line by Advanced Nutrients, and I decided to use this line and Biobizz for my second grow. During my time learning about the Ph Perfect line, i have came across soo much information that contradicts each other. So, I'd like to clear up some common questions with legit answers based on my experience using them in SOIL. First of all, this line CAN be ph'd. It does not readjust itself like many people on the internet claim. I tested this...
Hey im new to the site, and to Autoflowers. I have a few beans of a strain I really like and am seeking some advice on how to do a seed run with one of my last remaining beans so I can keep her around Ive never tried to get seeds before so I would appreciate any info on: 1.How much longer to let the plant grow after normal harvest time to make sure the seeds mature. 2. Do I need to change the nutrients to help have healthier seeds. Lkke instead of using veg for veg and bloom for bloom, would yiu need to increase the veg nutes during the flowering period to help the seeds grow, or do they require a bloom feeding to grow better ? 3. If I self pollinate an auto do the F1 seeds. That you collect retain the Auto traits or do I need to...
Tulip Joint aka give your girl some flowers :)
Hi there, so Im just preping goodies for todays bday celebration and inspired by @Vapo I decided that Im gonna show the easiest but also the prettiest joint rolling technique IMHO.. Most of you probably know how to roll it, but I wasnt able to find it here so there you go :) Im gonna show a mini variant (2 rolling papers, paper roach, 2g) but you can do even 4 paper monster with classic joint instead of the roach (I once rolled 25g tulip, madness) what do you need papers, roach, string, weed. start by sticking two rolling papers together and prepare paper roach that you can fix with another paper so it holds its shape. as its mini variant I used roach about a size of a std. lighter (idk 5-6 cm ?) but feel free to use whatever size you...
Have been growing for almost 4 months (had two early aborted grows - now on day 59 and day 53 of current grows). Running infinity T6 fans and filters (both inside tents) at high settings as my lung room is about 75 degrees. I absolutely have negative pressure, such that I crack open the zippers of the doors a bit to increase air inflow, but the sides are still sucked in a bit. The lung room definitely smells, even when the tents haven’t been opened for hours overnight. Is this a sign the filters are dying, or is it likely just the extra inflow gaps I created with the doors?
The Weak Link and the Art of Training Yourself to be a better grower The weak link? Training the grower to be a better grower? What is this? It's like this.... A plant in a perfect environment, combined with a perfect feeding schedule will result in perfectly grown plant. Most of us will never get to grow under absolutely optimal conditions. Whether your space is a little too warm, or too dry, or too damp, there is usually a challenge or two to overcome in a grow, if you ever hope to get close to perfection. In some climates, it is impossible to get it perfect, with most outdoor growers knowing exactly what I am talking about. Indoors is easier to manipulate environments closer to perfection, but even still some challenges are very...
Why?
I'm growing Glueberry Auto's using an Autopot system with coco coir and Canna A/B at 52ml each, Bulletproof 3.5 ml, and CalMag 30ml, all numbers are total dose in 8 gallons of H2o. Using Kind K5 XL 1000 @+/_ 30 Inches from tops, RH btwn 35 and 60 (swings are tough to control) PH 6.26., PPM now 628 down from 770s (no overt signs of nute burn noted) These girls are approximately 7 or 8 weeks old at this point and are showing wonderful flower production but despite my efforts to adjust ph up from 5.5 where it normally sat, to 6.2 to open it for calcium have only shown a continuation of these Brown spots which 1st started on the lowest leaves and are now showing towards the top of the plant...reservoir Temps are good btwn 62 and 70F and...
Hey everyone! I have an idea that I've been rolling around in my head a bit, and that idea is to really build out and flesh out our tutorials that we have on the forum. We have an EPIC amount of information on this site, and much of it is pure gold when it comes to growing, but admittedly some of it is... well... hard to find. SO, I have been working on collating and building out cultivation guides based on information posted in threads by members, personal research, other sites, etc. What I hope to make this different then the ol' "copy and paste" that EVERY site has done (everyone rips everyone off it feels like,) is that we'd have the AFN community give their feedback on each guide/tutorial that is presented, and that we'd work...
I'm pretty keen to try doing a manifold grow on my Autos but not sure about the best way to do it. I have been growing 4 autos per run scrog style in my 4 X 4 and they are over packing the tent so I'm looking for a way to thin things out and make the tent easier to manage. I have them in a smaller tent for the first 6 weeks and then finish them in the 4 X 4. I'm looking for a way to have them trained and defoliated when they make the move. Because working on them in the 4 X 4 is nearly impossible. I was thinking that a manifold style would allow for this. I know they say you can't manifold autos but I'm sure that we know this is bullshit. So please chime in if you've run an auto grow manifold style and let me know the good and bad...
I thought we could have a discussion about different methods of feeding and grow medium. Like the pros and cons and such. I am ordering an Octopot in a couple days will have it next week. I figured it would ease the switch to hydro for me. And I like the concept. But then there's drip irrigation which is cheaper and i can go to Lowes to get all the parts. So what's good wit' it lets chop it up :jointman: ~Cannabisius~
Instatransplant Cups & Pots pictorial and Root Restriction Stunting
I know i am often lacking in space in my setup and I can't fit as many 7" pots in my setup as I want, so if I start a bunch of regular non femmed seeds I simply cannot fit enough pots in my small space. I started using "instatransplant" pots a few seasons ago and had excellent results using the technique. I found that you would get little to no stunting when growing an auto in a 6" pot for 21 days. A few advantages come with an instatransplant pot. First it allows a totally stress free transplant. Extremely low risk of shifting dirt, and no risk of a poorly timed transplant, as the "windows" in the side of the pots allow you to monitor your root development, so a transplant too late or too early is super easy to avoid, by keeping an eye...
Double Bud Mutation
Greetings! Check out this White Crack from Mephisto that has grown a double bud. It is located on one of the lower side branches. Can anyone tell me what this mutation is called so I can look more into it, or have any input on the subject. Pictures 1-7 Day 50, last pic is Day 44. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
Hew all Happy New Year! I was just wondering what your method of operation is and any great tips that I and others could use when growing hydroponically! I will start out with this trick I use. I do not use Rock wool or any thing like that my seeds, when sprouted and big enough for the net pots goes directly in to the net pot and is supported by the clay granulates. I don't know if everyone uses rock wool when they start their seed but I never have. I see pictures on the internet showing rock wool in the net pots then surround it by the clay pellets. So the problem I had was getting the seed and tap root big enough for the net pot and clay pellets. This is my little trick I use now. I sprout my seeds in a sandwich bag and...
