1st Time Harvesting

My girls are on day 51 today and I’m starting to plan how I’m going to harvest my girls. My cousin an old skool grower now retired asked if I was going to use the boiling water technique.

The idea is to chop the entire plant down and pour boiling water on the root system, this contracts the roots forcing all the resin and goodness back down the stem into the buds whilst hanging. Is this something that is the norm or something I should give a miss?
