Would a modified screen door work easier? One of those screen/glass combo deals. Might be able to pick one up cheap and wedge a filter in it? I dont know how well those seal might spend more time and effort with caulk than is worth it. I am interested in your final build out!

A cheap flat masonite door runs about 90 dollars..... Thats a pretty cool idea though.. viewing window!! Just like the three tents I have and cannot use lol I thought about making a viewing window somehow... because im used to it with my gorilla tents... but Im also lazy.

Cheapest easiest way to add an intake filter is cut a hole slightly smaller than the filter and just tape it to the door.. although I might try something a little better than that... I am curious how the t6 can handle the static pressure... its 60% humidity in this area on average so far.. Im used to 35-50 % so it new territory for me with all the new stuff... We will see!

Made a little progress...

Rough fitting the fan, filter and lights...Giving the AC infinity t6 and carbon scrubber a go this next run... Got a long way to go and this hasnt been a priority as I am not in short supply :smoking:
Anyways.. Still trying to decide if I want to filter the intake by installing an additional door in the closet.. (another 100 dollars)or just take my chances and omit that extra cost...I normally filter my intake

This is an important decision as a few outside ornamental plants are having bouts of powdery mildew popping up on them in random areas near the entrance to my place.. Purchased some eagle20 to spray the outdoor shrubs and anything having mildew outbreaks near the outside of my front door if necessary before I pop a single seed.. Ide never use that poison on my plants, so dont get that impression! Gotta figure out cable management as well... this mess isnt gonna cut it obviously.. Decided to go with 1/2 inch plywood to cover the carpet... so have to do that too... the price of plywood is insane right now... Not particularly happy with all the bends in the ducting, but i had to run it a way before exhausting to cut down on noise. Ambient humidity has been around 50% so far..which should be manageable.. Not sure how that will change by the time this is up and running though... So yea... its pretty much a total mess



Ill do another update when the floor is in and maybe the door!

Nice progress! I'm looking at that same fan/filter combo. I have the 4" version of it. Been pretty happy with it. The new controller looks like a huge improvement. Considering upgradig the old controller to the new "type 67" I think they call it.

yes and yes so far... without the secondary door and filter installed.. I cant say for certain at which speed i will need to run the fan to maintain stasis, so that all is really still to be determined.

I would also like to note that the bluetooth capability and app ac infinity has for the cloudline t series fans is pretty cool!

Build a small wooden frame; this will fit across the bottom of the door. Staple AC Hepa filter material to it. Drill mounting holes. Screw to door (plastic anchors as needed) leaving the tiniest gap at bottom to allow door to swing freely. Stick weather stripping to floor as a "stop" to seal the bit of gap. Can also put on side door jambs or filter itself. For floor placement gently push a small piece with the door until shut. Open slowly (no draft lol), mark the edge (door side) and then use a straight edge make a long line, parallel to and just slightly closer to the door than the mark. Cut a strip the width of filter and stick it down on the clean surface.

Use thin luan or paneling for the bottom length of the box filter to allow as much air through the filter as possible. Leave the filter material long on the bottom. Bend the material to fit around and under the bottom or inside of the frame and staple it the luan/paneling. If thin, stiff metal is used for the bottom of the frame (screwed to the wood sides) duct tape, glue, or silicone the filter material to it.

Cut a hole out in the door's bottom and use a grille/vent cover (slats down) with filtration material (AC HEPA filter can be cut to fit) behind it...build frame if necessary. A floor register could be used for better 'light control' though it would look funny on a door. https://www.lowes.com/pl/Grilles-Registers-grilles-Heating-cooling/4294512214 Baseboard type with visible mounting holes, sometimes used on laundry room/closet doors to promote circulation. Attach a "sweeper" type weather strip to the bottom of the door to seal the no longer needed gap.

Also simple, and not bad cost- If halves separate it would be easy to and attach your filtration material inside. If it's just one piece the filtration material could be attached to the inside face, or directly to the door's inner surface over the vent.

Use a flexible "sweeper" type weatherstrip for the bottom of the door to close that gap, and weatherstripping as needed at the sides.

Well.. ive gotten a little further... I have my ac infinity carbon scrubber and 6 inch fan in place .. painted all the walls and ceiling with semigloss enamel (yeah i know semigloss isnt as reflective as flat but it also doesnt grow molds as easily and is more water resistant), and im covering the fresh paint with reflective bubble insulation whatever its called.. reflectix? where ever lights hits... Anyhow... Just have to put a plywood floor or something down, then paint that... then decide if I want to seal it with a second door and use a filter for the intake.. That would involve cutting a square in the inside second door to install a 20x20 filter in.. When I get some of that done, Ill post pics.. Dont hold your breath though..

Have you thought about using one of those things that goes on carpet for desk chairs? Like this.
