Right on. Yeah I am in the process of scavenging materials and such to try a test run in them. I just can't bring myself to spend money on something I can cobble together...eventually lol. I'm hopeful that by the end of July I'll have everything I need for a setup. I'll have to figure out how to go about doing a grow journal on here when I get it going.
I am thinking about using octopots to grow cannabis autoflower plants from seeds. I am concerned that the amount of time required for the tap root to reach the nutrient solution may stunt the growth and not allow ample veg time. What is your experience with this?

Hey man, just wanted to give an update on my bucket setup, I just never got around to doing a grow journal. It has worked out pretty dang good! Most everything was scavenged from local thrift/resale shops (luckily there are a few near me) or gotten for the cheapest I could find. I originally setup two buckets on an auto-watering system but being in a 2x2 tent, it was way too crowded. I used a 5 gal bucket with a colander in the bottom. This one is the one that I turned the colander over to make a bubble, covered it in a perlite layer, then filled it with soil. I killed a few seedlings by starting the waterer too soon, but once I figured out that I need to let them get a bit bigger before the water got turned on it was off to the races. I have a bucket res outside the tent, which runs to a small bucket with a float valve in the tent. That keeps the water level constant in the grow bucket. I used
OF amended with some organic dry ferts, some "tea" a couple of times, and plain water. So far so good, should be ready to chop in a few weeks.
