Grow Mediums Autopot tray vs reservoir ph

Get rid of everything but the Megacrop. For one, none of it is needed, secondly The Epsom salts is probably part of the issue, TOO much Magnesium. MC has all the Mg and Calcium you need. You've got lockout problem which in turn creates PH issues. Flush your pots with plain water, RO would be much better but your tap will probably do. Run about 5 gallons through each pot. shut off your res and empty the trays and place the pots back in them. Don't feed or water for a day.

Next, set your res to 500 ppms of just MC, PH 6.2. Your plants shoulsdrecover in a few days

Look up the ingredient list for Megacrop one part. everything you've added is already in it!

That is part of the dilemma. When you add the cow compost to your coco it is no longer a coco grow but there is not enough compost to make it a soil grow. I honestly do not know what the ideal PH would be coco is 5.8 and peat is 6.3 so anywhere in between should work.

I had a similar issue when I started using autopots. After much head scratching, I assumed it was either some chemical in the trays left over from the production process or I hadn’t rinsed & stabilized the clay balls enough in the bottom of the pots.
I soaked the trays in bleach & water, then re-potted using perlite instead of clay balls. Problem solved. I suspect it was probably the clay balls.
As others have mentioned the cow pots could also be affecting your ph.
In my experience its best to keep things simple with autopots. Base nutes for veg & then bloom & some kind of pk booster towards the end of your run.
The more extra bits you throw in the harder it is to diagnose any complications that may arise.

No set the res PH to 6.2. once your medium is flushed , the PH of the medium will lower, it may take some time. Realize also that the plants themselves will lower the ph over time. Set up right, you should never have to PH the tray, it is never going to match the res because the medium is in contact with the solution.

The best mediums to use in auto pots is either soil of coco coir. A blend of the two works quite well also. Don't use more than 25% perlite, I don't care what auto pots says. In fact, my best results have been using just soil or just coco, no added perlite. Perlite or clay pellets wick poorly and are really best only in top fed and other hydro systems.
And DON'T put " drainage material" in the bottom of the pots, its a myth and it actually causes problems, as this violates the laws of hydraulics, which state that the interface between two medium of different consistency, will resist the flow of water until overcome by gravity. You'll find that your medium will be moistened more evenly with less dry medium at the top of the pot.

I ran hydroton/soil/perlite/airdromes my first run and got what I believe are the same symptoms. I have a couple with coco only and some with low mix of perlite, no hydroton or air domes this go around. I hope to utilize the cow pots, but don’t want trouble. I don’t think they are the culprit as 3 are cow pot and 4 are not cow pot with the same issues. Planning to go MC only and see what changes.
