Does the introduction of flowering nutes help turn an auto from veg to flower? I read something that says to let the plant stretch before starting the next phase of nutes as it can halt the veg phase and keep the plant short...
nah, it's just a different ratio of the same stuff balanced towards flower development instead of vegetative growth. autos are like mules, you can't tell them what to do, no matter how hard you try. and the only way to convince a photoperiod plant to go into flower is to trick it into thinking winter is coming.

No, nutrients do not influence the plants bio-rythums (unless you are poisoning them with too much or starving them). The idea behind Veg and Bloom nutrients is to have available to the roots the nutrients the plant needs for the stage of growth they are in. In basic terms they need more Nitrogen in veg and more P-K in flower. This is an over simplification but it gets the point across.
Photoperiod plants require a 12 hour night length to start blooming. Of course there are exceptions to this as well.
Thanks for your replies, this is the danger of the internet, a million different opinions on the same thing. I agree with you both, I read the thing about halting veg with bloom nutes on here somewhere I think, it’s hard to sift through all the information and make a solid decision on how to progress
