what a tall women> at what distance are your lights ? would not be to concerned with defoliation and topping becasue the time needed for a plant to recover can't be added unless it's a "photo" - BUT auto's have their own life cycle: Vegation stage -1-3 weeks and Flower stage weeks 4-12 period !! your plant is growing nicely

i had it far away because of other bigger plant, got a mars t1000 now things will go better now

Put your shorter plant on top of a tall box or table or step stool to get it closer to the light. Even 6 inches extremely helps raise light intesities when I did my ppfd went up by 125 just lifting it 6 inches.
