Hi all, quick tent environment question.

All through the summer I battled silly heat in the 60x120x160 tent (small but perfect for available space) with 400w hps lamp and open shade

I purchased a cool tube yesterday, just in time for a 10°c drop in outside temp pretty much ending summer lol, however my tent temps are now 18°c with the cool tube and 400w. I have 3 at the end of week 7 in flower, and 3 others at different stages of veg..

I could move the light back down from 24 inches gap between it and the top of the plants raising the temp a bit
Or
I have a 600 w full spectrum bulb and my ballast is swithcable
Would it be OK to run a 600w in a cool tube in that space if I kept it at the top of the tent where it is now?
Providing the tent sits at a good temp after changing it

Your expertise would be greatly appreciated

If you have a cool tube I would put that 400 about 12" away form the top. The output of light from a 400w drops DRASTICALLY the farther away from the plant you are. I have a 600 in a vented hood that I'm using to veg and my plants consistently grow into the glass. I just move the hood up to about 4" above the tops. Just be careful that late into flower with bleaching, that's why I said 12". You could most likely go closer if you have the opportunity to check them a few times a day.

That's great info mate thanks.
I tried the cool tube for a couple of days and could only get the temp up to 19°c..due to autumn starting and the outside temp dropping over 10 degrees just after I bought the cool tube lol.
So have gone back to the 400 in the open shade to see if it all gets back to a better temp today. I guess I could put the 600 in the open shade when winter hits to help jeep the heat up.
Now the temps will continue to fall I think ill save the cool tube for next summer but I hope to have leds ready for then though.

Thanks mate
