I have't liked your post because it's nice (it's horrible to lose birds), but because I feel your pain. I haven't had silkies myself because I heard they don't lay many eggs and mine had to lay their way, but I've always liked the look of them. We're still debating whether to get any hens this year or wait until next.

Not good layers , very small eggs but the ones you do get are tasty my girls just got fed corn , their yolks was an amazing colour I also had pekins ,,shame I ain't any pics in the days before digital
