Hi everyone, although this is 1st post I'm following few threads on this forum for while now ... anyway I've got 2x Mars 300w and looking for upgrade to cobs. so have few questions. Is kingbrite from Alibaba a good supplier? What would you recommend for 4x4 area on budget(to replace 600w hid)? Would that area require more than conversion of 2x Mars 300w?

Kingbrite is good to go. Many RIU members buy from Jerry. But shipping is little expensive if you order is small.

Where are you from? I don't see a problem buying from alibaba but it wouldnt be my first choice. To replace 600watts of hps I'd go with 200-300w of cobs. If you went with 36v you could run 2 per driver.

UK, so Alibaba probably is best option, Mars drivers are any good to be used again?

I've read the therad again, auto cobs seems great option, do you know if they're available in europe? Or if you make them in US what would be the cost of 4 of them with postage to UK?

Im looking to finally get to converting my mars 300. I think i will get 4 of these wanted to see what yall think.

Does gen 6 matter or mean anything?

What color do you recommend? I was thinking 2700 and using my mars 48 for the short veg period. This will go in my 2x2.

Now if i get 2 of these will the drivers in my mars 300 be enough to run them?

Forget cobs ... Grab a Quantum Board from Northern Grow Lights - either their 90w kit or use a driver from the Mars Panel. I did it and found the install quicker , more effective and NO HEAT.

304 Samsung leds ( 3000k ) equates to 3500k cree. I gutted panel ( Mars 600 ) of panel and drivers ( 6 ).
Left Fan assembly and fan driver. Refit new quantum into case - minus glass .

Superior results compared to standard BLURPLE .

Do you have a board photo? Maybe make a quantum board thread showing how to do it. I'd love to hear the specs on them if anyone has info. I ran some Samsung leds in my recent build and they sure are bright.

I modified that build recently to a 3 panel ... Dubbed the BATWING

I pulled the Mars Hydro drivers and swapped for a Meanwell hlg 320h c2800.
Dimmable build ... Parallel wired ... With fan support ( case ).

This build will work with germing autos ( seedlings ) and full grows. NO HEAT - runs all day long at room temp.
This build started as the single board swap for upgrading the original blurple light .... Now i have a even better light.

The SINGLE PANEL BUILD was so good ... It grew good plants at 5 watts per square foot. I have a space of 10 sqft ( 3x3 ) and it grew plants very well. It pushes over 50% efficiency at mid to lower power level.
It is insane that i could get good growth and flowering at that small amount of power.

The THREE PANEL BUILD now is exceptional .... Still runs at room temps .
NO HID BULLSHIT - BALLASTS - BULBS - or High Temps.
A 6 panel rig ( run with 3 meanwell ) would DECIMATE a 1000w hid ... There is an ongoing shootout with a 550w QUANTUM BUILD VS 1000w Hid and the results are eyeopening.

These panels DO NOT REQUIRE TIM ( thermal interface material / Paste ) for heatsinks !
