I'm with @saskraider12, Pipe cleaner are easier on the plant and easier to work with. Do you have a plan for a growth pattern or just experimenting with LST?
At the moment im just experimenting since im new to this, but i guess the plan is to expose the lower branches for more growth and to make it wider. =)
Fill your pots to the max next time buddy.. that'll stop your leaves hitting the pot.. dont be afraid to get that soil right to the top.. assuming it is soil.. cuz it will alllllllllways sink an inch or so anyway. What strain have you got in there??
Yeah... I noticed... rookie mistake. xD Do you think I should repot them or will that stunt growth too much? Or can I top it with more soil? I got Blue Dream'matic and Colorado Cookies.
I have found that using a length of the stretchy green garden tape (that is about a half inch wide) and a binder clip is a simple way to widen the side leaves of your plants. I use a length of tape that will stretch from the pot rim and up and over the branch I want to train and down to the pot rim. I hold both ends of the tape and pull down gently. When you are happy with the branches new location, clip both sides of the loop to the pot edge with a binder clip. With this method it's easy to increase or decrease the restraint. I usually pull the four main side branches down gently and stop. Then return the next day and pull down a bit more, The soft green tape doesn't damage the plant.

Thanks for the wise input my friend. I decided to go with pipecleaners, but i'll wait for another 3-4 days or so before beginning LST, for now they are untied and overdrive growth mode!
Those are my babies are Day 23, how do you guys think they are doing? I'm waiting for some more height and then im gonna add some more soil and a layer for clay pebbles on top. Not gonna make the same mistake again.... Anyways I re-did the LST training with some pipe cleaners, alot easier to work with so thanks for all the input. Is the tiedown okay?
All input is, as usual very appreciated.
Thanks!
Pic with hygrometer is the Colorado Cookies, other one is Blue Dream'matic
I'm no expert but as the Blue Dream branch grows, move the pipe cleaner down below the leaves to pull on the stem. As the stem and branch grows past the pipe cleaner you can apply a second one to continue training the branch out and wide.
Experts can probably critique better than I.
On my grow I used multiple tie downs on each branch to continue to move them wide.
