The plants do just fine, but my sinuses are KILLING ME!! Like a box o' rocks attached to my face. I'm originally from a fairly humid area, but spent a lot of time in very sandy places. Of course it is winter...

LOL! I hear ya! I hate to leave my growroom, that 50% humidity feels good on my sinuses. My air is very dry too, running about 32%Rh All I got in the growroom is a bucket of water with a towel hanging out of it, and a fan blowing near it, not on it. that is keeping the whole 10x12 room at 50% !!

Nutrient Profiler spreadsheet and Fish's Lucas Log for hydro

Ok guys!

I've got a Nutrient Profiler spreadsheet from another website that I've modified with the addition of my daily log tab and nute add-back calculator formuli. I've got the full spreadsheet with the log and an updated "Nute-o-rama" tab and I've also got the log sheet as standalone. Both are attached below. The calculators on my Lucas Log are based on the basic GH nutes Lucas formula.

Any problems, questions, or suggestions, give me a buzz. (YES PLZ! Give me a buzz!!! )

UPDATE: BUGFIX V2 Do it again! To prevent confusion the target ppm has been locked at 1300 ppm (Lucas GH 100% nute rate @ EC 0.7 (1326)). USE THE "NUTE RATE" TO SET YOUR DESIRED RATE. I.E. 1=100%, 0.5=50%, ETC.



No I will not get my head out of my ass as it firmly seated and would require explosives to break the suction lock!

I'm not sure, but I may have trouble brewing. I changed the res last night and bleached out everything. Used 3 gallons of oxygenated distilled water of 10 ppm average. Added the usual supplements of 5 ml Zone, 3 ml CaliMagic, and a bit of epsom. Nutes were at 1/2 rate Lucas formula; 10 ml Micro and 20 ml Bloom. Initial ppm measurements after prep were 651 ppm @ 5.9 pH.

The res change was due, but also I started noticing some sort of material floating in the res that looked like tiny sheets of thin tissue. Like ultra thin skin from a peeling sunburn. My roots are turning a slightly pink hue that I REALLY hope is nute staining. Overnight, the ppm went to 756 from 651 and the floating material is back more than before. This really appears to be tissue sloughing. If so, from what? Lastly, the smell coming from the res is not indicative of trouble, just the usual smell of fresh bean sprouts. :no:

Just in case, I'm going for the H2O2. FYI: I started the lollipop process a couple of days ago, the day after I said "maybe later". Well? It WAS later! Vertical growth has slowed (even before trimming) and she seems to be more concerned with "filling in". No indications of pre-flower yet, but the mainstem is starting to change from opposite phyllotaxy to alternate. All side shoots are already alternate. I'll be flipping the cycle as soon as my new light fixture arrives.

I'll get some photos up shortly as soon as I charge the double-damned phone. Always when you need it, right?

So... no replies, no opinions yet...
Added a half cup of H2O2 to the res and 10 ml of BioBizz Root Juice. Pulled the net pot and placed it into a deep sauce pot and hosed the roots with straight H2O2, leaving it there while I dosed the res and fished out the thermometer I dropped down the sight tube. Still have what appears to be floating tissue that I MUST assume is sloughing off the roots. This is a fresh res and everything was cleaned with bleach except the net pot.

What do you think it is/was? Slime mold or some other organic thing. Hope cleaning and bleaching cleared things up.
Me I have been busy cleaning and moving stuff about!
When do you think you are going to start the Dragons? I have six beans waiting to go, gonna start em soon as I harvest BDM, so about two, three weeks for me.
Looking forward to both of our grows!!!

Nope it was there before the cleaning and reappeared overnight in the new res; more than before. The roots look a bit "pinkish", not the white and healthy look they should. I was REALLY hoping one of the DWC hydro gurus would chime in before it gets too far. I dosed with H2O2 and some Root Juice to kick things a bit. Hope to God it works. :dunno:

Re: Moving stuff. I read about how hard you worked on your basement and didn't want to "one-up" you. I really didn't wanna chime in on that one cuz I just got done filling a 25 cu yard dumpster with garbage bags full of debris from my garage! I took off all last week to do it and finished last night. So I'm REALLY feeling you, Bro!

Re: Dragons. I'm not sure now. Depends on what happens with Miz Dubya and this root thing. If all works out, I'm going to flip Miz Dubya in the next day or 2 when my new light shows up. I was going to just buy the ballast, but I figured might as well buy the whole shootin' match for the few extra bucks. The ballast alone was $80 and the whole works with ballast, fixture, 1 MH and 1 HPS bulb each, and the ratchet hangers. All for $121.

Hey TX :Sharing One:have you started using any new nutes lately ? ...without pics its very hard to advise bud ...the only thing I can think other than rot / slime ,is how & what your mixing up ?> some nutes like cal mag ect needs to go in 1st & fully mix or they can react with other nutes .This skin type white shit you speak of reminds me of times when I started growing & didn't always add say the cal mag 1st & would get a super thin white film appear on the surface when not bubbling ?... sometimes if ive added calmag later you can see it separating like oil in water kind of thing ? could be that maybe ?....

good news is I DOUBT its rot or slime as that seems to attack & attach to the roots & not float about (I could be wrong though )

other possibility's are not enough 02 being pumped in (lack of turbulence ect) giving nastys the chance to cling onto the bucket walls ect ect ! ... plus the obvious temps being a bit high ,anything you can do to bring them down a degree or two is good bro ...cover in reflective sheeting ,put the pump in a cooler spot ,makes all the difference & temps are ultimately your roots worst enemy

LOL!!! No it wasn't 100% (chromatographic grade)! It was over the counter 3% squirted straight on the roots with no dilution.

I think you may be right. This didn't show up til after starting the calmag and the pink staining may be coming from the GH micro which is so orange-red as to be almost black in the bottle. It wasn't there when I was barely using any nutes. Started noticing the discoloration at 1/4 nutes and the "film/tissue/what-have-you" after I started using the calmag. Of course I added it to the existing res (and I am bubbling) and if it formed a "skim", that would account for the floating bits in the mix.

When I mixed the new res, I put the ingredients in this order: water, Zone (anti-fungal), calmag, BioBizz Root Juice, nutes, decided not enough calmag so put more but still only at half rate (clue!), epsom. The roots smell just like fresh bean sprouts and no unusual funk. The air line did have a slight slime (before cleanout) and the roots as well to the touch.

Ppm is down a few points from over night but pH went to 6.2 from 5.8 and she hasn't used any water where she was at 1/3 to 1/2 gallon a day. The fact that vertical growth has stopped has me a bit freaked. The previous res was at 1/4 nutes and this one is 1/2 rate (Lucas). No sign of burn (except where my dumb ass touched some top leaves to the light moving her! duuuhhhh!) and her color is excellent. No spotting or veining, but her stems on the main fans and top are purpled.

The new 400w HID arrived today so as soon as this little hassle is handled, I'm gonna flip her and blast her with 800w of HPS.
