Many thanks for your reply @bushmasterar15 these are the only ones I've found on the plant. Should I cut them off? Bit concerned as this is my battle plant and that would surely count me out?

Yes you can pinch them off and keep watch for others to grow in so you can remove them. Hopefully she gets the point and starts along with preflowers.

I googled as much info as I could earlier and saw this but oddly there's only one each side as per the pic I posted and they are underneath the branch, nothing like the pics you attached and they seem to be the only ones on her/him! Odd!
