Something else to think about that I bet many around here and Oregon wished they had. There is a glut of mids. The price dropped, if your not running a storefront the $ per lb has crashed. Oregon is the worst hit. So much product it can't be gotten rid of. 15$ grams of rosin when I went thru a month ago. Indoor isn't cheap to grow, and when everyone in Oklahoma growing, and it can't leave the state, the market will follow ours.

I was there not that long ago as well, i noticed that flower still wasen't that cheap, but i seen $10 gram deal for concentrates everywhere

You know why right? The better flower makes the shelf...
Lots of cheap concentrates tells you a lot about the local farms.

Am 54 & understand your situation, understand there are many who have been supplying the industry legal or not have long been in the same boat.
Wife, family...
Now that it's legal, they're not welcome in the industry.

Many of us have served time, some still are, while a family waited... all for this weed.

Yes I resent those jumping in to make a buck.

If you were coming to me in person for the info, it would be discussed over a joint.
If you weren't interested, I'd point you to one of the many companies that would give you a turn key operation.

@Arthur I have not served time and I never have thought anyone should serve time for a Cannabis related offense that did not result in the death or great harm being done to someone else. I lost 9 years with my brother for a drug charge i understand what you are saying I have lots of friends and family serving time for things that they did and did not do. I totally get your frustration I did not mean to come off as i was entitled. A commercial grow operation is just the lowest initial investment opportunity that i have found that my meager pocket book can grow me into to accomplish my mission in life which is to provide my family and especially my grandson with the best life that i can by whatever means i can. Sorry again if i came off as entitled. I just came here because i saw a ton of great advise being shared by a group of people who obviously are passionate about the subject matter at hand.

Keep in mind that growth for commercial grower will likely mostly or only be in the recreational market, with all the current medical use markets, state regulatory infrastructures, dispensaries, etc. likely to disappear or be overruled by federal laws after any real US legalization. 'Medical' use would presumably rapidly shift to actual pharmaceuticals, with insurers only paying for and health care professionals only administering (if only due to liability/lawsuits) FDA-approved drugs (standardized, backed by rigorous clinical trials, with manufacture and QC at real pharmaceutical industry standards). I would presume the companies developing and manufacturing the cannabis-derived pharmaceuticals will have their own captive supply chain.

yeah i figured it was made from bud no one would buy so they had to do something with it, Concentrates don't really do it for me so i never tried it, i did try a few pre-rolls of different strains from different dispensaries and none of them were that great. next time i go i will definitely bring my own or find someone to buy from.

No worries, my toes are intact. This is a monster risk if your thinking your family's future. @BII is correct. Medical will be a brief flash in the cannabis mom and pop shop.
Only way I'd get in would be with the idea building it up and selling off before run out.

Rec might have a longer future depending on how fast Phillip Morris can plow the fields they already own once it's legal national. Then it will be a matter of time till you either grow, or buy Walmart weed.

My Grandma grew this plant, my Mom grew this plant, I grow this plant. I try to focus on all the love that was put into keeping strains alive, friendships made and good times had. I hope all our blood sweat and tears will allow only good times for future generations.... so their children never having to face DEA raids, guns in their face, everything you own seized, children put into foster care while mom and dad are in prison, being shot by thieves, group of people turning snitch when you didn't even get caught with anything, or dealing with a corrupt justice system that's GUILTY until proven innocent.

So in your new legal journey give a toast at home with your family to those who paved the way. We deserve it. ~ Peace

@MidnightSun very well stated. I will keep in mind all those that have sacrificed. I am if anything grateful for what freedoms we do still have although we should have a lot more than we do.
