Just had a look at the pics now I'm at home on my tablet. You are right.

I reckon if Hard on takes one the extract flexi off the end of the lamp and dropped it to the bottom of the tent it might give up some free heat. What you think?

It'll be GLR overload in the summer of 2016. Forget the Olympics - The GLR Grow Off is where it's at! I hear there is even a movie in the works - Roberto Esquivel Cabrera is set to star as Hardon (You might need Google for that one...)

Got an almost identical issue.

My way round it is to run a duct down into an up stairs room from my air inlet(passive) so I should be pulling a nice ambient temp into the tent. The loft im in suffers from massive solar gain in summer which gives temps in the loft in the 40s. But by Christ is it cold in winter.

I would have thought that auto's are more tolerant of the cold with the rudelis parentage.

I've only had a quick squiz at this post as in at work and using my phone, so excuse me if this is something you covered, but, what lights you using? If hids is your ballast outside your grow? Some free heat there. I've just gone led coz of the heat signature, have trouble with the 'tax men' on my manor.

The temps at the moment are grand during lights on and I don't think I'm going to have too many issues this time round since I got the fan controllers. I have a pretty steady 26 degrees with the cooltube fan running at 35%. It's the four hours of lights out that will be an issue in a few weeks. The tube heater is doing a grand job at the moment with the temps steady in the high 19's but I know this will drop.

I've been here before and have tried previously to add more and more tube heaters but that only gained me a few degrees and ate into my limted grow space too much. Last year I rigged up a blow heater which did work but was a major fire hazard! To be honest, I know there isn't a great deal I can do other than limit the lights off to the minimum and hope it doesn't snow! The forecast prediction for the UK is a mild winter up until January whenever we could be set for a long freeze so perhaps I'll be able to avoid the worst of it for this run? The next run though sounds like it could be fucked!

I already have the cooltube and the carbon filter exhausting into the loft to try and keep it heated and the area around the tent is already insulated. I will probably add a second tube heater in a few weeks time and maybe stick an oil filled radiator outside the tent. That will hopefully buy me a few vital degrees if required...

Growing in the loft is such a ballache! I've moved house recently and have a massive loft to play with now. My last house had such a small loft that the DR60 just about fitted and no more! The temperature in there during the summer was stupidly hot - I had to run the lights at 250w during the warm days and even then the temps in the tent were above 32 degrees! During winter, the temps got down as low as 7 degrees although we've had a few mild winters here recently by all accounts.

True life story? I was thinking some kind of futuristic action movie where the fate of the world is at stake in a grow off between two men who both use the power of the SCROG... Think Star Wars meets Debbie Does Dallas but it somehow includes plants....

Day Thirteen Update

We're almost two weeks in now and the girls are making storming progress! Although we do have an issue...

PLANT #3's LEAF IS SICK!!!

It looks like a calcium and/or magnesium deficiency at first glance but I'm not so sure. I use bottled mineral water which has a number of trace elements and minerals including calcium and magnesium so a deficiency doesn't really make sense? Also the manner in how the leaves are affected isn't really consistant with a Ca or Mg deficiency?

I've had this happen once before, the first time I ever used the AP's infact. That time it affected all my plants and destroyed quite a few leaves before it seemed to correct itself and disappear. I recall CalMag doing nothing to address the problem then and flushing also had no effect either - It just seemed to run its course and disappeared once the plant was in flower.

I came to the conclusion last time that it must have been something to do with me not washing the AP's enough before using them and whatever chemical they had been treated wasn't agreeing with the plant. Sounds daft maybe but a mate of mine took some of the AP's from the same batch for his grow and he had the exact same problem. Our soils and nutes were different so it was the only thing that made sense at the time. The same AP's have been used since (3 or 4 times) and the problem didn't re-appear (until now) so that knocks that theory. Anyone got any ideas?

Other than that, everything is sweet. Lights on temps are a constant 26-27 degrees with 50% RH and lights out are around 19-20 degrees with 70% RH. They got fed today at full strength, 5ml Grow, 3ml Superthrive, 1ml Silicon and 1ml CalMag to see if it helps combat the problem. That will be the last feed of Superthrive until they get their first dose of bloom nutes in a couple of week’s time.

I'm away for the weekend so I won't see the plants now until Monday. Here's hoping for some super growth over the weekend! ​

FYI - Here are some pics from the time this happened before....

It started out similar to plant #3 will random rusty spots....

And then progressed to this. All of the lower growth was affected and it seemed to spread quite quickly...

Anyone got any ideas???
