It sure does, at Day 18, after fimming (or topping)and defoliation of 4 leaves, I begun this morning to LTS 2 branches...it seem to take it very well indeed...Hi @autoguy and welcome to AFN!
I think autos respond well to topping and it sure helps to spread out the canopy!
