How to use elemental sulfur

I just bought elemental sulfur to use on my autos. They're planted in a 5 gallon pot and the leaves are yellowing around the edges, but only the lower, older fan leaves. I tested my soil ph and it was around 7.5 which is way too high for these little guys. How would I apply elemental sulfur to my plant and how much? Also have aluminum sulfate, should I just use that instead for faster results?
