@ColoradoDreaming420 I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I learned this the hard way doing exactly what you are doing. The clay pebbles in those soft planter bags will act just like grinders when and if you try to move the bag. I moved two medium sized plants and nearly killed them both as the moving clay pebbles sheared the roots. I suggest you get some plastic nursery pots and slip the whole thing right into it, then when you move the plants the pebbles will remain stationary.

The rest of your plan is solid. I went through a lot of the phases you seem to be moving through. I ended up here.

I am also very curious to wtf is going on with your pots etc lol. It looks like flood table but with pots with lids on them? Please explain if you dont mind

that kind of defeats the purpose of air pruning and limiting root growth doesn't it lol. I would think the idea would be to never move the pots unless in case of emergency? I joke but in all seriousness we would lose all the benefits of doing smartpots. I had actually though of doing airpots but all my research suggested smartpots were the go to. I can see what your saying but it feels like this would be a rare occasion to move them and it would hardly offset the benefits of the smartpots. Do you find you have to move them alot?

No, in fact I try not to move my plants at all. If the need arises you want to be able to without injury to the plant. Knowing about the limitation beforehand will help you if the need arises. I think this may be part of the reason other growers mix in some coco or soil with the pebbles as it would serve to stabilize them. I don't know because I went to DWC after the flood and drain. It just did not yield like I wanted. Later on I found out that I had a salt build up problem due to the fact that the flooding did not completely cover the pebbles. Toxic salt levels at the water line were stunting the growth.

That used to be my flood table.

I am using GroDan 6" rock wool cubes. The green FloraFlex caps keep the algae from growing and provide an anchor for the drip lines. The drip lines are not connected yet. Then I do a drip to waste. There is a detailed description of the "Precision Drip Irrigation System" I learned from a GroDan rep in my thread Mañ'O'Green's New Grow Room It seems complicated when you read it but in practice it becomes very simple.

I just read threw those and awesome job mate. You really put in some work on your grow space. I am curious about other flood n drain containers. I saw there was those plastic pots that are like pineapples. I think they are called airpots. We thought of trying those as well but they seemed to be more lotted towards height. Which is a major thing we are trying to avoid. Either way, if you seen our last setup, I think we are better off than before.

Thanks. Increased height was one of the driving factors in building a space as opposed to using a tent. I could not find a tent that would give me the dimensions to take full advantage of the foot print my wife approved for me in the room.

If you continue to evolve along the path you are on you will be growing in rock wool soon! I love DWC but it just gets too hot here in the summer and I cannot keep the res temperature in line without expensive space gobbling chillers. The GroDan drip system solved all of my problems and the grows have been good and consistent.

Here we go! 3 of 4 beans have officially popped and have been transferred to there new permanent home. Both of the AVT's and 1 of the Royal Jacks. I peeked at the last one and he has a tap root but hasnt done anything else yet. We will give him a few more days in hopes he catches up. If not Ill germ something else quickly to fill his space! As of 30 minutes ago they got there first sip of MC 2.0 at 30% strength. I also lowered the light slightly. Ill move it down over the next couple of days until we hit about 30" above them. Will hold it there for about 2 weeks and than lower her down to about 24" depending on what the leafs tell us of course!

We made it through the first day of Nutrients and direct light. Always a good sign. Our last bean never popped so I slotted another one. Same seed, Royal Jack. Hopefully that one pops and she will just be a week behind. Everything else is looking really good. I like the color of the first set of leafs and overall look happy. Our Temp/ RH is sitting at 75F and 55%RH. Id prefer it a bit more humid but its still on the range so we will leave her be.
