I'm really struggling to keep my RH under 55 the past few days. This isn't normal humidity for los angeles. It's been in the 80% range for almost a week now.

If it's hot enough to run the AC, those usually dehumidify the air. Might help. You could set the temp just below outside so it runs and pulls moisture from the air.
I haven't noticed a difference yet, but I haven't purchased any in about 3 months.
