My mom was on such a crazy high dose of opiates before that even tho pops is a square he is cool with the gummies! Now she gets 3 of the 4mg dilaudid a day vs before she got like 8 oxycodone 30’s a day plus like 200mg of fentanyl transdermal patches! Crazy how they used to let dr’s justify writing basically anything in opiate department! Nowadays they don’t fuck around!

20? years ago I was lucky enough to have a brilliant doctor. When my pain meds were becoming as strong as they get I expressed reluctance to opiates. I am a counselor working around skid row and I know the trajectory. He said he had patients succeed with cannabis and gave me an rX. Took me a few weeks to mull it over but obviously I made the right choice.

Even when I need morphine post surgery i use much less and am off of it quickly.
