My buddy called me the other day and we talked about his 22 Mustang Shelby GT500.
He wants to do a build on it. I simply said, 'Why?' I told him his car would dyno at 680 to 700 Rear wheel horsepower! With that 10 speed automatic, that car is absolutely freaking insane!
I know what's causing this. He is finally worked all the bugs out of his Trans Am. I think it's a 77 or a 76, with the rare color option of the gold with the matching snowflake wheels. It's not a numbers matching but it is a real Poncho motor in it, but it's a big cube stroker. We removed the carburetor and installed a Holley Sniper system For ease of tunability and reliability. It's a damn Trans Am! The cooling on them is marginal When they are stock! He finally contacted the guy in the Phoenix area that builds bad ass custom radiators and fully solved his cooling problems .
I just told him to contact these guys down in Florida at Palm Beach Dyno. I told me if you really wanna do this, just get the base package with a ported blower. I think over 900 real wheel horsepower would satisfy most people.
Knowing him, he'll just buy the parts and call me to help him install it.
