a steel 45 gallon drum would work well, just put a shelf half or so way up to support the mulch.

Thanks for the ideas! Scored a 60 quart pot today for cheap and already have a propane stand/tank. I don't need that much that often. Watched a lot of videos and read quite a bit last night. Straw stuffed inside an organic pillowcase and steam for an hour at 170+. Sterile, organic, hay!
