As much as I dislike mowing, I'd rather pave the yard and either paint it green or install astro turf, than let it go native! :crying: I have all the native you would want right at the edge of the yard! :headbang:
I grow only native grasses. I'm not obsessed in it being all uniform and 'purdy'. I mow high to help promote deep roots. I wish I had a several dump truck loads of the compost I used to make!

Since opening the heat register I found installed in a spot I would have never thought to look, the plants seem to be much happier.
