Good Morfnoevight All!

Ive always wondered this but havent really been able to find out anything on it, but why when cloning do you trim the leaves up so drastically? What is the purpose?
I read an interesting article the other day on cloning. All my experience was a long long time ago so I was curious cause things change sometimes new methods are better.
There was an interesting study done (Kaplan et al) about cloning methods. The results are summarized here , skip right down to the section titled....
Best practices for cloning based on recent research

The actual study is here I tend to just read the abstract and conclusion/results (I'm lazy lol).
