Insomnia is a PIA! I can relate my friend...I was in a Coma for over a year when I was about 8, and I've never slept correct since.....When I woke from it I couldn't sleep at all for months on end.

A head injury, and then I developed Meningitis from it. Good news is I had no idea I was out....I continued to live life in my head. It was actually startlingly when I woke.
