I used what I call Anchoring LST to help spread open the canopy of 505 HB. Basically I selectively secure the longest, and most productive lower branches to the pot, with little to no follow up adjustments. As far as pruning, I sometimes do in fact remove non productive lower side branches to send the energy elsewhere.

Edit: As we know, Morphology is largely dictated by the light spectrum.
