I use my MBM quite a bit, I wrap the plant mash after straining in cheese cloth and squeeze it with a potato ricer, works well getting most of the butter (squeeze slowly or you'll have a mess). I make 10 sticks at a time and lose less than two in the process, but I'm sure some is lost to evaporation regardless.
