Lighting Now it's my turn COB DIY

I zoomed in and am even more impressed. One of the frames I bought was about 1/2 as thick and was made with a poor quality aluminum. It had burn marks on the penetrations and the ridges seemed to almost rip the metal apart vs cut it away.

Ive got to ask what thickness was that cut from please? I was looking into having some frames/casings laser/water for a couple of lights I wanted to make for the future...i was looking at 4mm but not sure if thats thick enough to support 8 COB's and heat sinks...

The ones I have are 3-4mm thick and they are crap. It works but floppy. Going up to 7mm shouldn't add to much money but to me well worth the quality you get.
