[OPINIONS WANTED] How do YOU determine harvest window?

I harvest much like everyone else, but I have another factor that plays a part. I don't live in a recreational state, and have 2 kids so I like to harvest when they are at school. The other option is at night, but safer when they are gone. My plants may be ready, but if its the weekend I will wait till Monday. We are close to legalization it's not if but when. So until then that has a big part of when I harvest.

Stay lifted

Generally, when pistils have tightened up. For sativas I was cutting around 10% but lately leaning to 15% as the 10 just seems weaker and doesn't last as long. At least 20% for indicas. In my circle, most of the indica smokers are X hard drug users. They want to "git down".
ANNNDDD, I'll cut a small bud off when I think it's about ready, do a quick dry and smoke it.

I just look at them lol they just have a look that says chop me after 80-90 or so days. I wait for the white pistils to all turn red and pull in then its just when i feel like chopping OR if i'm running low on herb they get chopped as soon as there is more red pistils than whites.

I tend to like the racey buzz, and cut at first amber, but I do have some indica that I waited for almost full amber, just to have some in reserve.

I wait for the buds on the bottom the colas to fatten and swing down.

I try to do what Jean said... get to know the pheno first... but in general i wait for receeded pistils, and do tricome check looking to get at least 10% amber on calyxes but i dont pay much attention to leaf trichomes.
