So topping autoflowers when did you do it and it sounds like it worked out ok for you? I'm learning and I will be lollipoping and more LST next grow.

Most of us top above the 4th or 5th node when there is enough growth to not cut the 2 shoots accidentally.

Unlike a photo plant, you don't defoliate anything below that when you cut.
